I have purchased other db electrical starters in the past and they are still working great. My 1995 Polaris Explorer 400 needed a new starter so I ordered a starter and bendix it was supposed to arrive in a week but I received it the next day!! Works perfect as the previous ones. I have ordered 3 in the last 2 years. They always seem to last till just after the warranty. And I hate to say it because the price is great and Amazon shipping is flawless. But what good is it when I have to keep flipping the machine up and replacing them?

I just installed it and it does not work. Still get the clicking sound. I bypassed the hot and ground to put a direct jump from another battery and nothing. I just ordered another one.
Correction: Be careful when installing. The starter must be aligned properly. Wiggle it and center it as best as possible before tightening the two bolts located inside the pull cord housing. Test start it before you put everything together. Even though it installs only one way, there is enough play for the reduction gear to bind with the starter gear. You should grind a notch in the rear brake bracket to get the long bolt out. Tighten the rear bracket last once the starter is working. Avoid if you can taking the the top two bracket bolts completely out. They are a &%&*^% to put back in. Otherwise it now works great!

Over Researched –
Second Starter from DB Electrical (first one failed at the bendix) that worked great for a short period of time the first one lasted 8 months this one lasted 9 months. Each were different items on Amazon but for the same part number.
