After installing the starter, the problem continued—intermittent starting. Checked battery, wiring connections, etc. Finally took the car to a shop for a diagnostic ($130) which determined the problem was a bad starter. I tried to save a few bucks and ended up wasting a good chunk of time. That was my experience.
Kurtis –
The wire harness on my 2013 ford fusion needed to be modified to fit the wires on this starter. On this model of the fusion there is a plastic cover that keeps the two wires separated. Unfortunately the studs on the original ford starter the wiring studs are spaced farther apart then they are on DBE’s starter. So the plastic bracket needs to be removed and the wires shrink covered to fit on this starter.
