The guide pin on your original OEM starter will not fit in this starter so you will have to install without it. Also just replace the motor mount as well since you have to remove it anyway.

Installed on 2002 dodge stratus v6 2.7 L. Works great. The metal peg/dowel does not fit this new starter but i feel it isn’t really necessary anyways. Fixed the frequent blowing starter/fuel pump fuse issue. Honestly, a pain of a job though. Took me about 7 hours trying to work in such a small space.

The 2002 Chrysler Sebring Convertable Limited 2.7L has a mix of starters that claim to fit. Using DB Electrics website I was able to verify the correct starter before purchasing. The starter arrived a day early and with the rain and snow that helped a lot when working outside. The starter fit correctly and worked good as OEM. After removing the old OEM starter (120K miles on it) I found that the clip holding the solinoid wire had crumbled from heat. This solinoid wire clip is propriatary and not available. The solution was soldering a Dorman Conduct-Tite 1 Terminal Pigtail Connector – 91440 (30 Amp rated) to the solinoid terminal. This works way better then using a spade connector that will come off very easy. If you have a Sebring that keeps blowing the 20 Amp #8 fuse first check the solinoid connector, then purchase a DB Electric starter.

This worked perfect for my 2002 Sebring. $70 cheaper and no $100 core charge. Buy it.
