Gear length not extended 2.6cm, extended 4.1 cm. OEM gear length not extended 1.9 cm, extended 3.3 cm.
When installed makes a horrible grinding noise after engine started. Reason, distance from mounting flange to end of non extended gear is 6.4 cm and engine flange mounting distance to engine gear is 5.7 cm. Meaning, the starter is constantly engaged rather disengaging after engine started. Amazon give this a green fit but it is not. You can read from other 1 Star rating that a constant grinding noise if being heard. That’s why. When testing it outside the engine it runs smoothly without noise.

I had a problem were I came out to my car one morning and it would not start or crank over at all. I thought it was the battery at first so I tried jumping it, still nothing. Turns out it was the starter. I thought this would be some cheap starter that I would just throw into it for now but it turns out it’s a Bosch starter. Their the ones who make the original too. I was so surprised because the Vw dealership wanted $300 when I could get the same one for literally $70. Glad I took the chance in this case. Would definitely buy again.

A New OEM starter for $75? I was nervous, but for the price, gave it a try. I took it to the garage this morning, they installed it into my beloved 2007 VW Rabbit, and it works like a dream!

Bought for a 2009 VW Rabbit, as it’s advertised to fit. Size of pinion was off, caused a horrible racket in my car. Buyer beware, save your time and money and order a better part. I only hope my vehicle hasn’t been damaged.

My car didn’t make any noice or have any issues other than the starter. Put this on in and now there’s this grinding noice coming from where the starter goes. It turns over but not easily. Like I said no issues beforem any suggestions
