Did the job fine…..mine failed, and i bought a higher level of battery…this starter has the Jeep fire up , 1st revolution. Very good value also, and all the electrical contact points/nuts etc are exactly right.

The original starter in my ’96 Grand Cherokee finally wore out. I knew it was coming because I had been having long crank times for several months before I finally got an OBD2 code indicating a fuel pump problem. I replaced the fuel pump in May and the starter finally died in August. It’s a direct replacement except that both nuts that hold the wiring in place are a slightly different size than the OEM starter. The installation is a bit of a pain because the transmission coolant lines are right in front of one of the bolts, but that’s not the fault of the starter. It’s only been installed for 3 days, but so far, so good, and the cost was less than 1/3 that of a part from the local auto parts store.
Unfortunately, Amazon lost the first shipment, so they had to re-send another one and it took 7 day to finally get the this starter instead of 2. Not the fault of the product of course, but it really inconvenienced me for a few days.
