David Rude –
Easy installation and works great. After mine went up in smoke, I started looking around for a replacement. This was easily the best price I found and the quality seems to be great so far. Absolutely no complaints.

Fits and works like original starter.

Purchased three of these now. Price is right, but have had the teeth break twice now after only a few uses on my riding lawnmower. This would be an awesome product if it lasted longer.

Direct fit for Briggs 17hp in a Troy-Bilt Pony riding mower. Bendix stuck disengaged (retracted) once after 2nd use. Had to manually free it. Works fine ever since.

Been on the mower for a bout a month and still working.
Update 3/4/17 about months now. Probably about 10 hours on it now. Not as good as I originally thought. The metal bushing on the shaft above the gear collides with the magnets in the flywheel. Makes the starter to jump and flex as the flywheel turns around. Its gouging up the flywheel and the starter. Seems to be caused by the mounting plate being sized or possibly stamped wrong.
Apparently just another piece of foreign substandard crap that you lost job for. Nearly wrecked my motor. Replaced it with the $120 B & S version today. Junk – don’t buy it. This thing would have done more damage than the difference in price. Never again. Will only buy OEM starters.
I would give zero stars if I knew how to.
D. Miller –
Direct replacement for the starter on my Craftsman LT-1000 riding mower. Bolted on in minutes and worked perfectly. As it turned out my old starter motor was fine but that was my own fault for not correctly diagnosing the problem.
Patric Nissen –
Fit my craftsman perfectly. Well made does the job.
Capt Jon –
Direct replacement, however be sure your valves are properly adjusted. If I had realized this sooner I would not have burnt out the original starter. Adjustment is required at least every season or two (MAX) depending upon use, or when you experience slow turn-over when starting. When the valves get out of adjustment on the OHV Briggs engine (mine is 18hp) it acts like the battery is weak because is it attempting to start under compression since the valves are not opening to spec. It is easy to do with a box wrench and a Torx head driver.
One year later and still going strong!

My expectations weren’t very high for the quality of this starter and I was right. Second time using it the solenoid wouldn’t engage. Don’t waste your money…..
