Just took apart my starter from this supplier. It was the second one from them. I bought the first one June of 06. It failed in one month and 2 uses. The second was a free replace from Amazon locked up 20 miles from the boat launch. Took it apart and found 2 broken copper braided wires on 2 of 4 brushes. The magnet was broken up and disentgrated as well and it was locked up solid! Not an expensive part but a 20 mile tow by Boat US was not my idea of how to end an evening boating. I may have to try these guys again if I can’t find another supplier. In fairness to them if I do I’ll give a good review if it performs.

Had to run a 1/4-20 tap thru hole where ground wire hooks up. Bolt wouldn’t go in. Guessing threads were tapped with a wore out tap. Also no threaded holes in side of starter for solenoid . I used a hose clam and clamped solenoid to starter.

Starter failed after a couple starts . Sometimes it turns over like it should and then it barely turns over at other times. 1 month replacement aint long enough
