Super easy install, I did it myself. It Cranked my 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe PPV right back up after a dead starter situation I had. Much better price point ordering with this company rather than in person at a local shop. Would buy again, hopefully not needed though.

It fit perfect with no issues only had to drill the holes in the starter a little bigger for the factory bolts to fit.
I knew this before buying has I read it in the reviews. You can purchase the bolts when buying the starter if you wish that way you don’t have to drill out holes in the starter.

Bought this at the end of February 2025 and already having to replace it because it’s left me stranded on the other side of town. So now not only am I out the $75 I spent on this because I’m too late to get a refund on it (it’s now May 1, 2025), but I also have to find the time to replace my starter AGAIN and spend money on getting my truck towed home. DO NOT BUY!

I was somewhat skeptical at the bargain price, but as far as I can tell this starter is nearly identical to the original part. The only differences that I found are that the nut for the power cable stud needs a 14mm socket rather than the original 13mm, and the nut is steel, not brass. Also, I think that the alignment of the holes for the mounting bolts may be slightly different as one of the two bolts was a bit snug going back in. Other than that the size, weight, and layout are the same. The replacement unit seems to crank faster than the OEM model and my truck fires up with a vigor that I can’t previously recall. VROOOM!!!
While most YouTube videos show the starter being removed from the bottom of the vehicle, I found that it was easier to remove the right front wheel and the wheel well shroud and slip the starter out between the frame and the exhaust manifold heat shield. It’s a tight fit either way. I coated the terminals with some anti-corrosion compound as my old starter didn’t really fail, the electrical stud and cable connections simply corroded to the point where the resistance wouldn’t allow enough current flow to run the starter. The plated steel nut on the electrical connection on the new starter is even more likely to corrode than the original brass nut, so beware and take the necessary precautions. Oh, and be sure that the end of the power cable is cleaned of any corrosion before reassembling. We’ll see how I feel about this purchase over time, but for now it looks like I saved myself about $165 versus the cost of a rebuilt OEM starter.

The starter turns over literally at least twice as fast as my old one. I have a 2011 Silverado and had to change the relay as well. Everything is working great now however the bolt holes in the starter were made too small. My factory starter bolts would not fit so I had to drill them out one size larger. After that I was driving again.
