Amazon stated that the alternator would fit based on the info for my truck. 94 Ford F-150 2WD with an Inline 6. I should have taken the alternator out first which is my fault. Alternator wasn’t even close. Even the electrical connections are different. Mounting holes as well. I returned it but return shipping is taken out of your refund so be aware. Alternator is 16 pounds so return shipping is more than half of the price I paid for the alternator. I could have returned it to Autozone for free and swapped it for the correct one. Which is what I did after sending this one back. I wont be buying anymore auto parts off of Amazon. Lesson learned.

Product does not fit, alternator is just built to big doesnt line up with bracket or belt.

Installed in a 1987 Bronco with the 4.9L 6-cylinder to get rid of the problematic 2G alternator. Make sure to get a decent wiring harness to adapt this 3G style alternator–I got the harness at Summit Racing. The bracket on the engine accepted this alternator without issue. No problems to date.

It was a perfect fit for my 86f350 6.9idi. I used this one to upgrade from a 2 g alternator and used the harness for a 3g alternator it was literally plug and play for the conversion just swap the pulley. the alternator is working perfectly and I have zero complaints well built and very heavy duty for a car alternator

So I’ve had a ton of trouble and bought 4 different voltage regulators for it, So there can still be internal damage that replacing the reg. Won’t fix. I went outside to get it done freezing cold out went to install and WTH it won’t fit I came in scratching my head how this could have happened, few days go by I go out again and Thank goodness the ford bracket has both bolt patterns, should have read the other reviews and a few are spot on, YOU WILL NEED WD40 OR A TAP, Before installing the alternator use the bolt and get it threaded all the way through going back and forth, it’s 25 years of corrosion need to be cleaned out of the hole TRUST ME. I used a torch and WD40 and finally got it threaded, should have got the WD40 2 weeks ago yes I messed around cranking on it a few times a day, you’ll see. After install the Friggin belt is 1 inch to short So $35.00 belt she’s running again. I did see someone say the belt tensioner maybe moved this I did not check but wish I would have looked now I could have saved $35.00 because my belt is newer.. I was thinking that this altenator may have different mounting for different amperages or A/C or no A/C but one reviewer says it’s mounting means this is 130 Amp compared to the stock 95amp one So with that said DB is great and make quality products. I put there high output altenator on my boat and it charges at high level which is great for all my gadgets and electronics on my boat.

The alternator bolted up perfectly. Everything worked great and was easy to put in. The price was the best part compared to any where else I looked. It took a while for it to come but it was worth it in the end.

Wasn’t fully sure if this would fit as it’s not listed to fit my 1996 F150 4.9l but my engine’s alternator bracket is provisioned for both the low and high amperage alternators that were offered.
My truck came stock with the lower amp alternator that has one of the bolt ears on the alternator on an angle, unlike this which is straight down

Bought to replace my stock low amperage alternator that was having a lot of intermittant trouble keeping up with the two 100w spot lights i added to the bumper for the dark country roads down here in oklahoma. the stock one could sometimes keep the voltage around 13.8 when cold but within minutes it was having some trouble keeping the charging voltage much above battery voltage (13.0-13.2v charging). with this alternator it holds a steady 13.8-14.2v charging voltage even with all electrical loads on and turned to their highest settings! no more intermittant drops in voltage either

Was able to adapt the tension bracket to fit (removed one of the bolts to let it pivot) but it didn’t charge my battery. Returned for a full refund.
