Dash cams are really important to have these days, and I wanted to wait a while and test everything out before writing this review. I drive for a living, and I really wanted to make sure this was going to be worth the cost.
It’s not full 4k video but it’s close enough. The stored video resolution for the front facing camera recordings is 3840×2144 and true 4k is 3820×2160. So it’s close enough to 4k. and the rear is true 1080p.
The automatic setting of the date and time is really nice. You don’t need to go through any menu to set the date or time.
The image quality is great and really clear. Because of the 170 degree viewing angle, it makes it really hard to read license plates of cars going by you in the opposite lane, but for cars in front of you, it’s clear enough to read it during the day. I haven’t driven at night in a while to really test out how the video looks at night. Just around my neighborhood a couple times and all the signs are still pretty clear. It has trouble picking up street name signs at night though.
It has a lot of high price features with a low affordable cost. It’s not a touch screen, which I don’t like. But it does everything it needs to as a dash camera. And it does it really well.
The Wi-Fi connection is a bit of a struggle to figure out. But if you play with it a little bit you’ll get it. The app is pretty basic, but it allows you to download video straight from the SD card in the camera to your phone. It also allows you to have a live feed view and change any and all settings within the camera without having to use the buttons on the side of the camera to navigate the on-screen menu on the camera. Which is a really nice feature. It will not record if your phone is connected to it with Wi-Fi. You have to go into the settings and turn the Wi-Fi off for the camera to record again.
The suction cup mounting is very tight and secure to the glass. I’m not worried about it falling. And in the off chance it does, I’m not worried about it getting damaged or damaging anything else since it’s so light weight. One thing that bothers me is that it moves and swivels on its own. Maybe a defect on the mount. I have it as tight as I can make it and it still moves left and right on its own. Maybe the other mounting option will be more secure.
The battery life on this camera is great. Which is especially helpful for the parking mode feature so that it doesn’t drain your car battery. It’ll sit on standby, with the screen off, until someone or something bumps into your car, and it’ll start recording the event and lock it from being deleted.
I’m still waiting for the hardwire kit that I ordered for it to arrive. I’m really very picky when it comes to dash cams, but I have officially replaced my old dash cam with this one as of today. I really do like this camera and the features it has for its budget friendly price.

I am torn between three and four stars, but I have decided to go with four stars.
Pros:
– Manual is extensive at 42 pages. They did not just provide a QR code to scan which is becoming more common.
– Picture is clear and license plates can be read.
-The kit is very complete, including SD card.
-Their customer service is helpful
– The camera has adequate buttons such that buttons don’t have multiple functions.
-The menus are clear
-There is an app to set up and view the recordings. I did not test the app, because I didn’t want a Chinese app on my phone and everything can be done without the app.
-Price
Cons:
– Manual is written in broken English. With AI, this is a pet peeve of mine. Such gems as “If meet problem while use, …” The manual is full of them.
– Coming out of the box, the camera looks like a toy. Hopefully, it will be more substantial than its appearance.
– Customer service is in China. When you email them, response time is slow at 1 – 2 days. With time zone differences, I am certain 1 day is as soon as they see it.
– I needed a replacement part, and after the long email exchange they advise it will take about three weeks for it to arrive since it is coming from China.
-App is from China which I didn’t want on my phone, but fortunately it isn’t necessary to use the app.

I have never used a dash cam previously but have always wanted to try one. I had assumed that they were complex to wire in for automatic operation but that could not have been further from the truth with this model. Basically, supply it with power and it will just start recording.
I did find the picture quality to be a little edgy, over sharpened, and compressed but I’ve always been picky about video quality as someone who used to work in the video field professionally. There was a setting that determined compression quality that I am going to go back and play with, but truthfully this is certainly suitable as is.
For an inexperienced user such as myself, this was not just great in it’s simplicity, but also in that it includes everything needed for setup. There are multiple ways to mount the camera, all cables are included (even a memory card is included) and there is no interfacing with your car’s electronics unless you want to use this as a backup camera, which I did not.
Removing the chip from the camera after a few test drives, it was easy to place the chip in the USB adapter and look at the video clips directly on my PC.
I am sure that there are better dash cams when you spend more money, but for most people I think this will be suitable not only in its quality and its simplicity but also in its value.
I would certainly recommend it to a friend who is looking for a good starter setup!

$50 w/ a 10% discount at the time of this review is not bad for a dashcam that includes a rear camera. The image quality is fine, but is really overexposed in darker environments and you really should use the 4K option (which is enabled by default). There is an app but the OSD has all of the functionality. No problems with the installation hardware with the suction cup, the included charger is also more convenient because it’s just a dual USB-A port with a really long USB-A to USB-C cable, you can use the same cable to power the camera on with a USB-A charger. Overall, I wouldn’t expect miracles, but for the price, it’s pretty good
