i’ve read a lot of reviews where people have stated that the pigtail started to get hot or melted their lighter or whatever… respectfully… i would suggest those people were overloading the device and don’t have basic understanding of wattage and amperage…
anyway… it has no problem at all powering my radar detector and fast charger for my phone at the same time. if you are charging two phones or using a dash cam or whatever… it shouldn’t be a problem…
this is NOT designed to run your car fridge or portable heater or anything else that draws a lot of current and amps… you would probably need something hardwired to your battery for that. or something a lot more substantial than this pigtail….
but for what it’s designed for it’s perfect. i appreciate the 14g wire. most of these are 16g.

I heard some sparking from this connector after a year of using it. The springs had gotten compressed so it was constantly falling out so I suspect it was heating up internally. When I opened up I discovered the failure mode. The positive terminal was touching the negative terminal after the plastic softened. This caused it to short before the fuse, allowing it to draw more current and melt more. I would advise to stop using this if you think it overheated at any point. Further use may result in this failure mode.

The wire and plug are good quality, heavy and sturdy, way better than my crappy one. Also the extra fuses come in handy when i need to power more devices.

I love the poly inserts under the ground side connection springs on the male plugs…very good reliable connection.
One caveat- initially I ordered 2 of these splitters but when I opened the package one was genuine and the other was a very poor copy with no female socket covers and no poly inserts under the ground spring. So inspect what you get! The packaging of the fake one was very different so how the order picker made this mistake is puzzling. Amazon is sending me a replacement for the fake one and I’ll drop the other one off at UPS without having to even pack it back up.

These are what they say. Heavy duty feel and wiring. We use this for our 2 heated blankets this last winter while of grid living in western NC mountains.
