Works well and easy to install. Plenty of wire to hang out back and easy to stuff away in the back section of a 2008 Honda Odessey.

Often the review covers multiple models. I bought curt 56161 and it was a perfect and easy install in my 2007 odyssey. Regardless of your model, this curt harness adapter works great for installing trailer lights. I would absolutely recommend it and the install was easy. It is a direct plug into your rear lighting harness.
If there is a generic or one size fits all type of harness available, dont buy it. I’ve learned that the hard way. The curt harness, specific application to your vehicle, is worth the guarantee of working and being a direct fit.

By purchasing a product specifically compatible with my vehicle, installation was plug-and-play. The harness fit perfectly in the empty vehicle socket, but there was a LOT of extra wiring that needed to be coiled up and stowed away. Most of the install work was prepping the path the wiring would run, and wrapping the wiring with protective tape. Once connected, every trailer light functioned perfectly.

Easy to install and works perfectly.

The product is great and came with everything listed and more, all the way down to more than enough wire ties. I watched a YouTube video showing how to install, which was easy to find if you search “Trailer wiring Honda Odyssey”. The video was much more helpful than the instructions provided. You could complete the installation without watching the video, and using the instructions, but the instructions are not very detailed and the video is. All the wiring fit perfectly and I had to trim nothing to complete the install. I just had to move some existing wire harnesses out of the way to find a place to mount the box, not a big deal.
The product appears to be very well made, sturdy, and the inline fuse is a nice feature. There is plenty of 4 way wire leading out to still run it across the back panel, to the tire jack/ tool area on the other side and stow it. There is also plenty of wire to run it back out of the stow area and drape it out the back hatch to the trailer.
I would definitely recommend this for anyone for the ease of installation and quality of the product.

I purchased this along with the proper trailer hitch and ball mount for my 2010 Honda Odyssey Touring. Gotta have the trailer lights fully operational and running to be legal, right? When I say ” SUPER EASY ” to install the wiring….. plug and play is the best way to describe this. You pull the rear interior side panel back, literally locate the socket on the PCB board behind the paneling, plug it in, screw in the ground wire ( as the directions note), and add one additional fuse up front on the inside of the vehicle, and BAM!!! The wiring is 100% done. I’ve been working on cars since I was knee-high with my dad…. and I’ve built and also wired trailers as well as various vehicles for proper towing. What I can absolutely say about this kit is….. if you can read a 6-10 step set of simple instructions, plug an outlet and socket together, and know how to use a screwdriver for 1 grounding wire…. you are solid! I added a complete towing package upgrade to my Mini-van for under $200 Class 4 towing and now I can bring my V-Star Cruiser with me cross-country whenever I want and still have my vehicle, friends, and family with me too. First trip… West Texas hill country. Worked like a charm. I will be upgrading my S.O.’s vehicle very soon.

This was so easy. Anyone can do it. Videos can be found on Tube to help. Only took about 25 min. The hardest part is just getting the car panels lose. And it was not that hard.

Surprisingly easy- follow the directions and it took me 15 minutes. The directions say “find a ground, drill if required” but on my 09 Odyssey the factory ground point was right there and easy to reach.

This harness plugs right in as advertised and works! No extra wiring or wasting time involved. 5 stars!
