My 2008 Silverado 6.6L Duramax LMM diesel had a P0546 which turned out to be the EGT sensor looked a little rusty so I ordered this socket and it fit and worked perfectly, no issues of rounding.

Yes – I would recommend this socket for anyone who owns a GM diesel since it looks like GM has an issue with these sensors failing per TSB # 11054b which points out a voluntary recall in which not many people are being notified. Bad call on GM’s part since it measures the exhaust gas temp and could result in yet another GM vehilce starting on fire.

Long neck for leverage and good quality build materials. Much better quality than OTC. Won’t round corners and keeps a firm hold on flats. Will buy 3/4-22mm version also because I’ve already broken one OTC as the casting material was not high quality.

was skeptical being that most 02 sensors seize into the pipe and are always a task to get out. However, this tool tightly fit on the sensor and with a large breaker bar, broke the sensor loose from the pipe perfectly. used 3 times now and worked perfect every time.

works as advertised. best place to buy is right here.

Too wide to fit is a confined space on a VW TDI

    Good

This thing is worth every penny,I got it for my Honda Grom but the fins on the cylinder head were still in the way because the wall is to thick on the socket. Tool is good quality and looks nice delivery was flawless

The order was delieverd very fast . The socket is very good for my 17mm oxygen sensors from a VW Passat. It feets perfect in small spaces. Thank you.

Upon receiving this socket, the socket is not a flat 6 point hexagonal design. It is a modified hexagona design that is more a “Torx” type pointed ends rather than the true flat, 6-point traditional design.
It is indicated that this is an oxygen sensor socket but I am using it for a Duramax LML Diesel EGT sensor located in the exhaust piping.
Upon testing the fit on the 17mm hexagonal sensor, this socket fits, but the “points” are not traditional, but rather extended, rounded points, somewhat beyond the traditional point on a standard socket. In other words, it’s not as tight as a traditional 6 point.

I’m hoping it can adequately take the stress of removing what can be a difficult to loosen sensor.
The rear of the packaging also indicates the socket is for oxygen sensors on Land Rovers.

    We’ll see what happens…
