I tested the CSI detailer against an award-winning interior detailer and an award-winning exterior detailer.
The CSI detailer performed much better than the interior detailer. It removed some marks that came with a new vehicle that the major brand product could not remove. The award-winning exterior detailer was much closer in performance, but the CSI detailer cleaned faster and better. I was surprised how well the CSI detailer cleaned.
The dedicated interior detailer tended to streak the least. The dedicated exterior detailer streaked a little more. The CSI detailer streaked the most.
The CSI product says that it is combustible, whereas the dedicated detailers with similar ingredients do not say they are combustible.
Due to the increased streaking and potential for combustion, I was planning on continuing to use the dedicated award-winning interior and exterior detailers. However, I have found myself reaching for the CSI detailer more often. It cleans better and cleans faster. If there are any streaks, I just spray some distilled water on and wipe it off.
I recently used the CSI detailer for lubrication with Mothers Speed Clay. There was a lot of detailer mixed with synthetic clay on the car. I just removed it with distilled water and a microfiber cloth. The whole process was very quick.
Initially one of the benefits I was expecting with the product was to have a single bottle for interior and exterior detailing. By requiring the distilled water bottle, it negates the single bottle advantage that I was expecting. However, the combination of the CSI detailer and distilled water works better and faster than the two bottles of task specific detailer, so I have preferred the CSI product for real world use.
When finishing with distilled water, the CSI detailer also cleans windows very well and can replace a dedicated glass cleaner. I have been very pleased with CSI detailer + distilled water for automotive glass cleaning. I haven’t gone back to dedicated glass cleaner since trying the CSI detailer.
I saw some videos where the claim was made that CSI detailer is strictly a cleaner without added gloss enhancement. Some product documentation says that it contains gloss enhancers. Since I was doing some preparation for ceramic application to bare paint, I would prefer cleaning only, but it seems to work for preparing the surface for ceramic application. It says that it works on all surfaces including leather and matte surfaces.
The product documentation doesn’t mention if it is safe for automotive display screens as the dedicated interior detailer claims to be. I did get some streaking on a display that is visible at specific angles. The streaking isn’t obvious from a normal angle, so I’m not sure if it was from the CSI product or from another product. I did notice it only after using the CSI product and I used the CSI product as labelled, without the finishing step of the distilled water on the display. I will probably try removing the streaks with some dedicated display cleaner, but the streaks are so hard to see unless I am looking for them, that it hasn’t crossed my mind to work on it. The product is anti-static for body shop work. I thought this might result in less dust being attracted to the display screen, but it seems to attract as much dust as the dedicated interior detailer does.

Great product. I use it inside and out. CSI product line is amazing and proves you dont need twenty five products to do a good detail. Thank you CSI ! Glad I found you I just wish I had found you three years ago!

I use this product every time I wash my truck. I have a light tan leather interior and it works perfectly. I did color test the product on a small part of the leather, and it worked amazingly.

Apply this detailer first and let it dry….then apply Q-7 Wax and let the two bond together….wipe them off to an awesome high gloss durable shine. You won’t be disappointed!

I read an article recently on color specific waxes, and the gist of the article was the best wax (I know this was a detailer) for use on any car will be the one that’s easy to use, because you’ll use it. I won’t say I didn’t get warm while I was using this, but I don’t see how it’ll get any easier than this. I did my “small” car in two stints of about 15 minutes each, it looks great, beads up water well. I have not tried it on the interior or windows yet, this detailer says it will work on all of it!
