Shipping was outstanding! Excellent quality and very fair price. Very satisfied, I’ll look for them on future automotive items I need.

Perfect fit for my Jeep! I didn’t have the issue of the 4 corner bolts coming loose during installation, as some other reviewers did. My installation went without a hitch. I’m very happy the annoying grinding sound is gone! I’m very pleased with this purchase. At this time, I’ve put about 2,000 miles on my Jeep since the install. I recommend. By doing this job myself, I saved over $400 in labor costs for a few hours of relatively easy work, in a shop with a machine press.

This is a full kit, which went together well but does have some issues as described below.
1. First, the retainer plate is included in this kit snd is critical to a successful bearing and seal replacement. If your bearings were loose (in/out) play, the the old retainer was most likely stretched outward and would never function properly again so you want to replace it with a new one.
2. Many people complain about the studs in the retainer in this kit turning in the retainer plate before reaching the set torque. The reason this occurs is the heavily staked lock nuts included in the kit. I would not reuse them as is. I would either install the original nuts if in good condition, torque them and then install the locknuts in the kit as backup’s or use the old nuts with lock washers or buy new grade 8 nuts and lock washers. Any of these options should prevent the studs from turning. I did the first option because I didn’t have to buy anything else and my old nuts were in great shape.
3. When installing the retaining plate, do not fully install one nut at a time to torque. You want to slowly move from nut to nut and walk the plate in because it’s pushing the seal in and you want the seal going in straight. Work in a crisscross pattern, no more than two turns per stud until it’s firmly seated and all nuts are at torque.
4. Obviously your seal needs to be installed in the correct direction, so hopefully you were careful to do that and to lune up the seal with oil so it slips in.
5. There is no reason to pack the bearing with grease. It rides in gear oil. If you have the side you are working on jacked up, you shouldn’t lose much fluid. Coat the bearing with gear oil prior to inserting the axle into the axle housing and that should be fine. Once the repair is completed, I jack up the other side and let the gear oil run over to the side I worked on prior to driving the vehicle. Of course you may need to drain and refill the fluid depending on your situation. For mine, it was a minor seal leak so I just added a little through the end of the rear when the axle was out.

Not sure if I got a particularly bad couple of kits, but on both kits, the studs of the bearing retainer stripped out during installation. This is a giant pain, as it requires the job to be completely redone to fix. Both sets failed between 35 and 40 ft lbs (spec is 45). In the worst case that’s a full 20% lower than required torque. Seems as if the heat treat on the stud wasn’t done properly. It’s a shame, this has the makings of a great kit, but I would not buy it again, too much risk.

I bought these for my 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited as replacements for the existing ones on my axle shafts. I took this to a professional shop to install as I do not have a shop press. We ended up paying one hour of labor @ $115/hr to have them installed. When I got back to my Jeep to install them, I found that the bolt stubs in the metal mounting bracket would just rotate in the bracket. It’s almost like the weld on them just wasn’t strong enough or something. Unfortunately, the top of the bolt stub is SMOOTH. So there’s no way to get a wrench on it. I later read online that another guy ran into the same issue and had to completely remove the stubs and replace them with regular Bolt + Nut from a local hardware store. Fortunately in my case, I had a good pair of locking needle-nose pliers. I managed to get them locked onto the smooth top of the bolt stub and could use a socket wrench on the other side to tighten the bolt. It was NEARLY an exercise in futility… but after an hour of very frustrating work that was pushing myself to the limit of my strength getting the pliers locked onto them… I finally got them all tightened down. Was praying they wouldn’t slip and leave me with one stub I couldn’t tighten down. 3 of them broke on one side, 2 on the other. Fun times.
This manufacturer really needs to work on a better weld for the stubs on the metal bracket. Or just ensure that the head of the stub will accept a wrench. I would have given this 1-star.. but felt that would be unfair since at the end of the day I did get the part on, and it did do the job it was designed to do.
