Product does do what it says it will do however the tube that goes into the spray nozzle for tight areas is almost impossible to stick in.

I used Rust Encapsulator first on new used/bed for my Ranger and then covered with RP-342. Goes on thick can be a bit running but it got in all the tricky hard to get places. Time will tell on its durability! New England is tough on vehicles.

So I did a bunch of research on how to protect my 08 Silverado crew cab frame rust. I thought it used and it had surface rust already. So I decided I would scrap and degrease the frame then 3 days later I treated the rust with a rust reformer inside and outside the frame. After a week of curing I went in for the big job of using this stuff. All of what I read online was this was the longest lasting and best none new rust forming spray on the market. I also read it’s messy and drippy when applied. So here’s the deal. Lay something on the ground to protect from drips. Because it really drips all over. Next get yourself some protective equipment. I used a full face mask with respirator and gloves and painter suit and glad I did cause I was covered in it.
Amount needed to spray the whole underside. I used almost 6 cans. Maybe good to have extra cause they say in a year check for touch ups. But I gotta say after spraying it dried quick. I let it sit for 2 days and it’s like a harder wax on the truck.
I have driven in rain for the past month and it seems to be holding up well. I live in south Florida so this is probably a one and done for me but I can see why those up north can really benefit from this.

I used this on my 2012 F350. I pressure washed, wire brushed to remove flaky rust, applied rust encapsulater, painted then applied the RP-342. This product covered nicely. And, with the applicator straw I was able to get into all the small, tight areas. It dried to a shiny, durable finish. Time will tell on its ability to keep the rust away, but so far it is doing good. Plan on getting very dirty when applying it and throwing the clothes away after. It is very runny and splatters everywhere. Use eye and breathing protection.
12 cans was enough to cover the entire underside of my F350 Dually. I did put it on moderately thick.

I use it to coat any metal when under a vehicle. Always had a habit of bringing black spray paint with me for oil changes, repairs, Tire rotations etc. To spray exposed metal. I like this better than spray paint. It did hold on to some sand last time i went offroad, but at least there won’t be any rust!
Edit: down to the last couple of cans from the 12pack. I’ll use them just to use them but won’t buy again. This stuff does not prevent rust. As some reviewers have noted, it does wash off with salt/water, the brine they spray on the roads. At least half the cans had a fail with the spray nozzle, so a lot of product gets wasted. Used this stuff every oil change, every time I found an excuse to mess around under the truck, and anytime I noticed rust starting. After 4 years and 10 cans there is rust all over my truck undercarriage. If you live in a low humidity dry hot climate, this stuff might work for you. If you live where it rains ever or they treat the roads for snow/,ice, I’d suggest looking for something else

Product goes on thick. It has great coverage. This is my first time using it on my car, but looks like it will hold up better then the fuild film that I normally would use. It is messy and is hard to remove but that’s expected with something like this.
