- REPLACEMENT ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR : Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor is a sensor that is screwed into the engine’s block or cylinder head. Common symptoms of a bad ECT sensor are overheating, hard starting conditions, poor idle, black smoke coming from the engine, Check Engine Light ON and the electric fans do not work properly. Be aware that coolant will gush out when removing the old plug so have the new sensor close and ready to attempt to reduce the amount of coolant loss.

Andre F. –
I was very pleased at first because the last item like this I ordered from Amazon the temperature sensor broke into pieces after about 30 hours and only was used for less than two the car only ran for less than 2 hours. this one worked for 5 days . And this is where it gets serious. Unlike the last one my card didn’t notify me that it was no longer working so it was still taking incorrect readings of a temperature the last one at least stopped working entirely so the car let me know that it was not working this is for an Acura TL 2005. This one caused my engine to overheat it could have cost severe serious serious damage because it kept one of the fans from turning on and the car overheated spilling coolant I could have had very expensive engine damage and may still have so I have to get it checked out by a mechanic
