Showed up faulty so I called and got a replacement starter instead of a refund.. the replacement starter had same issues as the first. After taking the second starter to a repair shop I was informed the brushes were installed wrong and there was an oversized washer shorting out the starter.

Worked first time than would not work burning smell and odor from starter. Hot to the touch. Total waste of time and money.

It wouldn’t turn over and I had to adapt it for a much shorter starter

The new starter fit well and works great on my TO-35 replacing the original delco starter. The power terminal was a little farther from the solenoid, but the old cable needed replacing anyway. I made the new one about 4” longer and I worked great. I could mow using the starter if the battery was good enough.
Make sure your block surface is clean a rust free so the starter gets a good ground. Ask me how I know.
