I have a roller cam in my big block chevy 454 that was walking and made the engine untunable. This cover fixed the problem right away. It’s a bit pricey for a timing cover. But definitely better quality and far less flex than your typical steel cover. Cam play adjustment was also very easy installation was easy as well I only had to drop the 2 front oil pan bolts to sneek the cover it. I did have to use an Allen head bolt on the bottom driver side hole. There’s not enough space to get a 7/16 bolt head and socket into it. For the price I wish it had of come with a timing pointer but they are cheap to add in so not a big deal.

Solid unit. It fit behind my edelbrock short water pump with no problems, I didn’t even have to add a second set of gaskets as they suggest as a remedy. Granted I have a Dart Big M block so maybe I gained a little clearance there.

This was an easy and effective way to set roller cam end play. High quality and worked like a snap, looks good too

1972 454 with solid roller cam, gear drive. Cover would not sit flush on block because of idler gear button, Also, Cam button was non adjustable even though description says it was supposed to be adjustable. Even when button plate was placed over the cam gear, the plate hit the cam gear before the button touched the cam. Returned item.

I thought, this wouldn’t take much time to install, since it says quick & timing in the name. So, I waiting ever so patiently for us to go out for a Catfish dinner…I was so hungry y’all & he seemed to take forever & I got ‘hangry’ …I eventually got my catfish dinner but we both eat in a not so very good mood.

Gotta say this one pissed me off! I try to buy American whenever possible (especially when it comes to anything metal) so I look up Cloyes and read about their American made products and so I decide to shell out the extra cash to buy the matching cover for my Cloyes timing set (which is made in the US) and I receive the cover and it was made in Taiwan! The quality is alright but it’s just not the quality of a product made in the US!
