Glad I went with a reputable brand on my first engine build. All parts seem to be well-made and fit perfectly. The gap between cam and crank gears is smaller than stock, but that likely is because these are a bit beefier than stock. The chain is well-made and everything works smooth as silk. I went with a single chain for a 350 Vortec build with mild cam. No need for double roller and this will be quieter and fit like stock.

I liked the idea of having roller bushings on the pins instead of having the links ride directly on the teeth. That advantage comes with the tradeoff that there’s only one plate on each side of the chain for structure. I hope it’s a good chain kit. For the pain involved with the installation it better be. 4 stars because I can’t be sure just looking at it.
The teeth on the chainrings are a bit narrower than stock. I don’t think that’s really a problem, but I’m not sure yet.
The drive ring (on the crankshaft) has three keyways. One keyway is for a stock setup, one retards the cam relative to the crank by 2°, and the other keyway advances the cam relative to the crank. One for more high RPM power, one for more low RPM torque, and one in between for the stock setup. I went with stock. See instructions for details.
The fit was tight, almost perfect. Be sure to have a way to turn the crank a few degrees either way to help with proper alignment. If your chain is worn it’s almost certain that your cam and crank are just a bit off. I found lots of good videos on YouTube explaining the process. I used the paint marker to make the alignment marks easier to see. I also put a dab on the timing marks on the cover and the harmonic balancer to make them easier to see with a timing light.
On Vortec engines you’ll need a new timing cover and new water pump gaskets. I think the cover came with the pump gaskets, but I can’t remember.

It’s the true fit with no fuss and high quality for durability as well!

This worked perfect and tight.

Fit Fine. The Quality is okay for the price. Only has two outer connecting arms at each link. The one I took off had a total of four. The outer two plus two in the middle. Had I known I would have spent more money for a higher performance piece.

Worked out just right 👍

Fits the ZZ4 block under the stock black plastic timing cover. Top gear IS the same GM part as the original that came with my fast burn crate motor. Seems to be good stuff. If all you need is the chain, I believe you can buy it separate and I”m sure it would fit the original GM gears just fine.

Much better quality than OEM
