I bought this cable for charging my portable power station from the car – and it works fine! At 12v, the 14 AWG wire should handle a maximum of 15 amps (or 12 amps at 80% rating), and my power station only uses 8 amps, so it’s perfect. The XT60 connector has a solid, nicely molded feeling, with good strain relief. There is a built-in fuse holder in the 12v plug to protect from overcurrent or short circuits, and the plug has a red power indicator to let you know you have power from the outlet.
I’d buy this again, perhaps in the 10-foot length for more flexibility in where I can locate the power station while charging.

I picked this up to power my Lipo charger in the field from 12v. I’ve found that especially with these portable generators that running loads from DC is significantly more efficient and nets longer battery life when you apply the load to DC vs DC to AC then Ac back to DC and take all the losses in between.
Just be conscious of how much amp load you draw from the 12v socket and everything is happy!
I’ll be using this as my go-to for field lipo charging!

I have multiple RC chargers that take the XT60 as an input source for power either with or without optional AC. When in the park or other places I need to charge DC using a pigtail off the battery, or in the significant others vehicle one of the accessory outlets.
I have to charge at lower current when using the accessory outlet plug, but it is a nice option to have to keep the RC fun going with the kid if we are in the alternate vehicle.
I like the solid xt60 connector does not feel cheap, I also like the power light on the accessory plug to let you know it is getting power.
I realize the 14awg makes sense with a lighter plug, it just makes me sad as the XT60 is intended to be a 60amp connector.

Seems well made. When pulling an 8amp load for around 10min the tip of the cigarette plug was a bit hot but from what I have read this may be the nature of that socket; The wire stayed cool to the touch so no issues there.
