This iPhone holder does everything it’s supposed to do and looks good doing it. The way this holder attaches to the vents is brilliant. Just turn the knob and it retracts an “arm” that grabs a hold of the vent blade. Couldn’t be easier. Takes about 15 seconds to adjust and get it perfect. I do wish the profile was a little bit slimmer but it’s ok. The fact that it’s all black with no writing on it helps to make up for that. Being all black, it blends in very well with my black interior. The magnet is really strong and there is no way the phone is falling off. I also like how I can freely turn the phone in landscape or portrait and it stays put in an orientation. I wish I would have gotten this sooner.

This thing is well designed and built pretty well. For the vast majority of cars this should work perfect, should be easy to install, and should stay pretty snug as well. The magnets are fairly strong too (though I do have a case for my phone that increases the magsafe grip), and keeps it sturdy. To pretty much everyone I’d recommend this product, but there’s a couple of very specific problems that I have that makes this not work perfectly for my use case, even though the overall design is exactly what I need.
The reason I’m giving it 4/5 stars is for 2 reasons. The first is my car’s vent fin is too thick for the grip on the back to go all the way across the back. It does work, but I had to extra tighten it to do so, and I have a feeling it’s going to slip off eventually. The second reason I gave it a 4/5 is because the ring that tightens the magnet part in place unfortunately doesn’t tighten enough to not move when I detach my phone. Like I did mention before, I do have extra-strong magsafe magnets from my phone case, so this is likely the cause. With that said this isn’t that much of an issue, but if it does get even a little bit looser in the future I’ll have to figure out a modification to make to get it to tighten more.

The barbed end of this phone holder just slips into the car vent then you twist one of the rings to pull the hook up to secure it. There is a second ring to twist to secure the angle of the phone surface–super easy and adjustable. The magnet strength is medium–the one we have in our other car is stronger–but sufficient to hold my iphone in it’s magsafe case. For reference, the car it’s in is a 1999 Subaru (no fancy vents). It works well and isn’t too bulky. Definitely recommend!
