Not very good with Honda V6 transmissions. It causes harder shifting. DW-1 or Aisin DW-1 have special shifting modifiers. I switched back to DW-1 and shifting is smooth. Will not recommend this for Hondas at all.

On my ’08 Honda Element with nearly 150K miles, I do a basic drain and fill every 30K miles or so. I am currently about 5,000 miles into my second “drain and fill” service and, while it seems the Transmax is not quite as smooth shifting as the stock Honda fluid under load in very hot weather (I live in Phoenix, AZ), the transmission does seem to operate very comfortably overall and I have experienced no problems in the past 35K miles I have been using it exclusively. In fact, around 100K, I began to use the Castrol to supplement the Honda fluid as I was experiencing a tiny bit of hesitation from the transmission with the stock fluid and the Transmax cured it! I will likely go back to a mixture of the Honda fluid and Castrol Transmax in the future just to ensure longevity and improve the overall feel of the transmission, but I wouldn’t hesitate to use only the Castrol Transmax again if price or availability of the Honda fluid was ever a concern. Also, Amazon’s gallon jug prices can’t be beat…stock up!

Recently put this in my 2002 Highlander (3L V6) as a second fluid change at 120,000 miles. I believe that the shifting is smoother than the original OEM fluid.

Replaced Trans oil on a 2007 Infinity M45, have since driven about 300 miles without any issues. Infinity service manual specifies the transmission has a capacity of 10 7/8 quarts, however I replaced with about 8 1/2 quarts on level ground, make sure to check A/T fluid level gauge after driving 5 min. in urban/city driving. 1st I warmed the transmission for about 5 min. then drained the fluid thru the drain plug including the “inlet” hose from the trans oil cooler (looks like a radiator) then (optional) I also blew compressed air into the transmission oil cooler “outlet”(driver side) hose which forces any remaining oil out thru the “inlet” hose (passenger side) place drain pan under the “inlet” hose. Make sure to attach a hose clamp over the “outlet” hose when compressor hose nozzle is attached, if not hose will disconnect & spray oil all over (wear safety glasses). Do the same for the “outlet” hose leading back to the actual transmission without drain plug attached repeat about 3-5 times each session for about 10 seconds. I was able to extract an additional 1/2 to 3/4 quart (approximately). You’ll need a compressor that can deliver 70-130 P.S.I. & the transmission drain plug tightens @ 25 ft-lb, have a good day. This procedure took about 1.5 hours.

Unfortunately I waited until 60k to do the service. Sure it’s what Honda recommends, but I’ve seen so many forums talk about doing it at 15k then 30k, then 45k, then 60k and so on. My 2012 Accord V6 has an internal filter, and can not be replaced.
Same with my 2015, but I’m going to do that one earlier.
I’ve also read that you “shouldn’t” use anything but the Honda auto trans fluid.
Not to go against Honda, but I ran a manual with 5w30 for years with no problems.
That being said, Castrol’s website specifically states that this fluid is just as good as the Honda brand.
If you want, use the Honda fluid. Go to the dealer and buy it for $10/Qt or whatever.
I bought 3 gallons (actually 3.5L) of this for $60! I’ve drained and refilled twice. Drove about 1000 miles in between.
The fluid is still dark, but if you understand that the transmission holds 12 Qts, not just 3.5L, then you’ll understand why it’s still dark.
Long story short, this stuff works.

(UPDATED JUNE 24th, 2014)
I used this to replace Nissan-matic Type J fluid from a 2003 Infiniti G35 with 108K mi. I did two changes, replacing about 85% of the original ATF fluid. The transmission actually shifted better BEFORE putting this fluid in. I immediately felt “mushy” shifting in warm temperatures (80 F) and when the weather turned cold a couple weeks later (mid-30s), the transmission had trouble building up enough pressure to shift, or even remaining engaged without spinning the clutch plates UNTIL the fluid had time to heat up. It would then shift, but not as prior to the fluid change.
After a couple months, I bought genuine Nissan-matic Type J fluid and replaced the Castrol fluid. My transmission immediately returned to shifting normally, with minimal lag even under hard acceleration. In my mind, this was the ultimate proof that the Castrol Import Transmission fluid wasn’t a suitable replacement. Several of the comments below indicate that not everyone believes a manufacturer would misrepresent their product. Well, as the old saying goes, “You can lead a horse to water…”
I’ve never had any problems with this transmission before putting Castrol Fluid in it, and I’ve always sung the praises of how quickly/positively it shifts. My conclusion is that there must be a difference in viscosity between this Castrol fluid and the stock Nissan fluid that impedes proper operation, especially at colder temps.

The packaging is in good size. I emailed Castrol and confirmed that it also fits 2010 Mazda 5.
Change over was easy at home, so far shifts are good, i suppose month will tell how it holds up.
Original fluid smelled horrible and was black at just 30k km.

Had the tranny on my 05 Nissan Frontier 4.0 flushed and refilled with this fluid about 6 months ago. It was about half the price of the Nissan fluid, and so far I’ve had zero issues here in Southern Arizona with any heat related problems. Shifts just like it always did.
