The axle nut will ruin the thread on the cv axle it’s self. Great job
Greg Neilson –
I used this axle to replace the original on my 05 Elantra. Everything went well until about 10,000 miles in, the the axle gave out and vibrates once again.

Installed easily enough on my 2004 Hyundai Elantra 2.0 automatic. Ran into a issue where it wouldnt go into place but we had to just hammer it in. Put around 1,500-2,000 miles on it no issues and no longer leaks grease like it once did I would buy this again also dont go tearing out your front suspension only had to undo the axle nut and the two nuts holding the steering knuckle in place, get a pry bar on the cv axle and it will pop out, your gonna need to refill your trans fluid you lose a ton, hammer it in with a mallet and do the reverse order of operations and your good to go also had no issues with the compression nut hammered her down with a impact and it didnt strip or round anything off not sure what that dude was talking about

Installed on a ’04 Elantra automatic ,no abs. Front drivers side. Tested and verified repair.
Cv axle performed well so far, time will tell if issues arise. Only issue I have is as others mentioned, I do not care for the compression type nut that holds everything together. I prefer if the cv axle had the cotter pin system to prevent the nut from backing out. But I would still purchase again as long as the cv axle has a good long life. For the price, in my opinion this is a very good replacement cv axle.
