The duster itself works good but the extendable handle broke on the first use. I got a replacement and it too broke on the first use so I just drilled it out and put in a couple of screws.
Staying afloat –
We’ve been using Califirnia Duster for a few years now & love it. We’ve upgraded to a few times because of extention handles. Are only complaint is the duster quality has gone way down on this newer version. Maybe we received a deffective duster head? We called the company number, but they never called back.

I’ve owned a few California Dusters over the years and decided to purchase a new one for my SUV. I love the extended pole so I can easily wipe the top of my SUV with ease. Good quality materials used, nice large duster size and it performs well!

We purchased this on 4 March 2024 and it worked great until this morning – 18 June 2024, when thehandle snapped off at the ball socket where it enters the broom head fitting. Unfortunately the return period expired on 4 April and Amazon are unable to offer a replacement. I am now left with the problem of how to contact the manufacturer and hope they wish to protect their good name and product quality.
The mop/broom head works great and we are fully satisfied with how it performs. More attention has to be paid to product strength at the weakest part of the mop/broom – The ball on the end of the broom handle.

So… I have a class A RV. I am short. I want a good duster I can use. I called the company (outstanding that you actually can call them!) and found out this universal one is the only one you can add your own extension pole to. But I ordered both this one and the original one designed for RVs that comes with an extension handle. The does mop part of this one is terrible! It’s really short fabrics and it seems to be much more ‘balding’ (the fabric rows spaced further apart it seems) the one designed for RVs that comes with an extension handle has a fabulous mop head! Absolutely fabulous. But it doesn’t go anywhere near tall enough, and doesn’t have the easy flexibility of turning it around without bringing it back down to the ground every time you want to change direction a bit. So I tried to take that fabulous mop head and put it on this structure that will allow me to put my own extension handle on it… Both versions of the mop heads can be removed… But there’s absolutely no way to interchange the two mop heads with the handle structure of each. I really tried and I thought I almost had it once but there’s just no way to do it 😥
I really wanted this brand based on all the other reviews and things like that…. Even if it meant buying/keeping the two different versions and combining to make one that worked good for me. But it’s a no-go.
Biggest takeaway on this particular item? The mop head is definitely not magical, special, or wonderful.
