This filter is definitely more durable than the OEM filter. The OEM is just the pleated filter, while this one has the pleated filter and carbon beads. It is almost the 1/3 the price of an OEM filter as well. It is slightly larger, because there is foam that outlines the border construction, but it makes for a more snug fit and probably is more effective at directing more air to through the filter. This also provides instructions on how to locate and replace the filter. Whether or not it is more effective at trapping pollutants/particulates than the OEM I’m not equipped to say, but it looks like it do just as well and is more durable.

I put this in my 2021 QX 50. I think the hardest part of the install was removing the plastic wrapper from the filter.
This is a really high-quality filter compared to the factory filter, which is just a pleated particulate filter.
The installation was super easy, no thanks to Infiniti or the instructions that accompanied the filter. Infiniti’s owner’s manual states simply that the filter is “located behind the glove box,” and “if replacement is required, it is recommended that you visit an INFINITI retailer for this service.” I’m sure the dealer would be pleased to charge their customary rate to perform this operation that is no more complicated than changing the air filter in your home’s furnace.
The installation instructions found in the package no doubt apply to some model years, but not to mine. The instructions would have you removing the glove box door, but on the 2021, this is not required. A YouTube tutorial I found showed that you merely have to pry off a plastic cover plate in the rear of the glove box. No tools necessary other than a butter knife.

Airfilter works great in 2022 Nissan Rogue. Feels sturdier than the OEM filter I removed, but the airflow is the same and it does knock down outside odors better than what was originally installed. I wouldn’t call it ‘easy’ to install but that’s really about the car and not this filter. Cheaper than OEM, too.

This excellent cabin filter fits perfectly in 2019 Nissan Altima. It looks much more substantial and higher quality than the Nissan OEM cabin air filter, and seems to work better in terms of cleaning the air. I especially like that it has spongey padding around the edges to keep it in place and create a better seal. I also like the way they put a little loop on one corner to allow easier removal when it is time to replace it.
