These do not work on BMW E60 M5 with S85 engine. It was time to replace all the spark plugs on my car, so thought I would proactively replace the coils since you have to remove them to service the plugs. Spent hours installing and putting everything back together, only to have the car misfire on each of the 10 cylinders. Engine only ran rough for a few seconds before it would die. Confirmed fault codes on all 10 cylinders with Foxwell scanner. Had to tear the car back apart and ended up putting back all the old original BMW Eldor coils to get the car to run and not misfire. One other thing to note is these coils are fatter than the original which make it extremely difficult to install in the furthest back cylinder tubes. They also do not have the traditional snap fit with the spark plug which makes it hard to tell if they are fully engaged with the plug. Stay away!

So far so good

Works beautifully no issues after few months of running in my Bmw F15. High quality.

When I installed these the first time, my car did not start. So, I put my old ignition coils back in and it started fine. I thought maybe the coils were bad. I started comparing these coils to my old ones. The only difference is the way they fit around the spark plugs. I’ve installed ignition coils in the past, but these have very tight fit around the spark plug to the point that the internal coil would not seat on top of the spark plug. In order make it work, I had to take the spark plugs out and jam them into the ignition coils several times to loosen them up. You can tell the spark plug has been seated when you push the spark plug inside the ignition coil and you feel resistance or hear what sounds like a spring bending inside. I am not a mechanic, so maybe this is common practice.
Update:
This link explains the sound you hear when properly seated. They changed the design since I installed mine and it’s not a tight fit like it was. They probably had install issues like those I had and reported in reviews where some get seated and others don’t. If you get the old version they say to use dielectric grease to allow proper seating onto spark plug.
