I’m a bit surprised this ended up working so well to restore the black plastic on “Mr. Handsome”, my 2005 Ford Escape. It was looking really, really sad, but is now almost as good as new. This bottle was just the right size to do the whole job. I finished off with a second coat (from the same bottle) a few days later and then some Armor All a week later.
All I can say is … wear some REALLY GOOD gloves when applying! I made the mistake of using some thin nitrile gloves that opened up in a few places without my notice. I had black fingers for days and black under my nails for even longer. Nothing would take it off.
I call that a good thing since if it can penetrate skin and fingernails that well, it’s probably done the same for the plastic on the car.
I took off a star because it seems a little bit pricey to me. Should be more like 1/2 star, really.

This black trim restorer is insanely effective. The depth of color and matte shine are really attractive features once applied. It almost looks like you just replaced parts straight from the factory! Only things I was concerned about was just how serious the company is when expressing that it can dye “ANY” part of your car. So make sure you have everything masked off before applying this bad boy. Also note that if you apply in in under 60 degree weather, it doesn’t go on very well and you will be left with some odd streaks.

Product applied very easy – I did two coats – now we wait and see how long it will hold the black color, that will be the true test.

Great idea in concept, but different results in practice. Product leaves a dull, flat black haze instead of the vibrant, deep black one would expect.
