The description was inaccurate. It stated that these shocks were 26.8 inches long, which would have been perfect. So I ordered them. I get them and they are TOO SHORT! They measure 24 inches not 26.8 like it said. Therefore I am out $188 and have to ship them back. What a nightmare. Change your description. Waiting on my refund. Had to put money out before I got the money back. No good!!

Absolutely love the 5100s. I have these in my 99 4runner and the ride is great. I had to purchase this 1 to replace 1 a so called tech cut out of my truck. The lower bolt came out while driving and my wife pulled into a “shop” they charged her $40 to remove it. The top nut is a pain to get to but no reason to cut the piston on a $90 shock. Mind you it’s $200 at the local Advance. Just because you have tools that doesn’t make you a technician. If anyone knows a reputable shop in Northeast PA please let me know.

Ride great, direct bolt in! When removing the stock struts, you will probably have to cut off the top :p

Just finished a 1500 mile trip thru Baja with these shocks and OME 906 springs in the rear of my 1996 4runner. I was really happy with the ride over the harsh roads, and off road. Here at home I can live with the more firm ride.
