I’ve only had this for about an hour now but it’s fantastic. I have a 2019 CX-5 and the fit is just right. The plastic piece looks good and gently clicks in place. The magnet is crazy strong and easily works through my Apple silicon case. I’ll update this review later if something goes wrong with it but my initial impressions are that it’s a good buy.
It might also be worth mentioning that the only 1 star review here is from someone saying it doesn’t fit their 2017 CX-5, but the title says it fits 2018-2019. The only 2 star review is from someone who couldn’t figure it out bc they didn’t have instructions?? Just drop the disc in between your case and your phone. It couldn’t be any simpler.
UPDATE: Make sure the metal disc inside your phone case is about a half inch below center. If you put it right in the center (at least with an iPhone) you’ll be blocking the wireless charging capability. Move it down a bit and you’re good to go.
UPDATE 2: Ok, I’ve had this for around 20 months now and I’m still using it daily. One suggestion I would make for everyone is to find the proper angle that you want the device to stay in and then use your best gorilla strength to tighten it down as much as possible. I initially kept tightening it and no matter what I did it seem to always eventually loosen up. Either that or glue it like one other user suggested. Once you get it really locked in tight it should be fine. Mine loosened up a lot in the first month but it hasn’t moved in a year and a half now. still love this mount.

It works, but I am using an Otter Box protector on my Android phone, and it doesn’t QUITE fit on the two upper arms. It fits in the bottom part, but only grabs the sides rather tentatively. So I have to tilt it way back so the phone doesn’t fall out of the holder. So it works… mostlly.

What can I say, I just can’t stop talking about this little unimportant item that I treasure every day…. Extremely well made and very well thought out. It doesn’t block my infotainment screen ,my air conditioner vents , my hazard switch or even the vent controls… It feels and looks like Mazda made it part of the car… I live in Phoenix so with the air conditioner on my phone stays cool so no overheating… Totally worth the money… If I had a commercial business with all Mazda CX-5 I would equip every one of them with it…. My only gripe? Adjustment nut would loosen up every 2 to 3 days, but since I use it a lot this is expected…. I put a little loctite on it and problem solved… BEST PRODUCT EVER I WOULD PAY TWICE THE PRICE

If you own a Mazda CX5 from 2017 or after, you owe it to yourself to try out this phone holder. It installs very easily and looks like it’s part of the dash. The magnetic mount works well enough with the supplied metal disks which you can attach to the back of your phone or put in the back of your phone case.
After using the supplied disks for a few weeks, I decided to use a Magsafe phone case, so I replaced the supplied head with a Magsafe Magnet Head that perfectly attached to the 17mm ball joint. Easy to swap out, and it’s been a perfect solution. I regularly drive on bumpy dirt roads, and the phone stays put.

Fit was perfect for my 2023 Mazda cx5, easy to use and strong magnet, haven’t had any issues no matter the road conditions. Can still use the hazard button while the phone is mounted, doesn’t take long to learn the feel of the button when reaching behind the phone
