It installed quite easily. The key cranks the car. It works. Sometimes when putting the key in or pulling it out it gets stuck so I have to ease it around till I can free it.

I had needed to replace the ignition for about a year ever since the old one was removed by a mobile locksmith on an out of state trip who ripped me off. I had priced locally at a repair shop and was quoted several hundred to replace. I looked at a parts store and the same item was twice the price, even with the sale they had.
I was unsure I would be able to install myself but it was really easy and did not require any tools. The surrounding plastic part of the dash was still removed from the locksmith.
I am really happy and impressed with both the quality and price of this product and would highly recommend it. There were previous reviews on here stating the lock was stiff or problems with key etc but I have had NO problems whatsoever. Glad I purchased it.

After the local dealer gave me a price of more than $800.00 I tried this one. I looked on line and was instructed that it would only take about eight minutes to install it. I knew that was simply impossible. I was right. It took me 10 minutes to install it. It works absolutely great. I would have to say that I don’t believe I have ever made a better purchase. I have had it for some time now and it continues to work perfectly. I am almost 80 years old and I intend to keep my 2000 Toyota Camry and would be very dasappointed not to have it. I highly recommend this item to others and the product as I have already explained is simply great and the price I paid for it makes me concerned that I might be arrested for theft. My ignition wore out on my trusty old ’97 LE. The car has 320k miles on it so it’s probably about time for a new one. This one went in without issue. The only reason I knock it a star is that it is very notchy. It’s almost like the tolerances between the lock and the keys is really tight. I could see this being the case since it’s brand new and I’ve been running one that 16 years old. I’m hoping that it smooths out after using it for a while. As it stands, there’s been a day or so where I couldn’t just pull the key out after turning off the car, I had to make sure the key was perfectly aligned to the lock and then pull it out. If the key was slightly angled, it jammed. I do feel like it’s getting better though. We’ll see how it goes.

it works for the 1999 Toyota Camry and its super cheap with keys but the only thing that now i use two different keys one key to open my car and another to turn on my car but no problems at all turning the key the before was horrible because sometimes i could not turn the key at all and i would be stuck for ten min trying to figure it out i recommend this product to anybody who is in the situation i was and has a 99′ Toyota Camry, great product and easy to install and works like a charm

Used this to replace the ignition cylinder in my 2001 Toyota Camry. Only issue was that the “Halo”, which recognizes the let’s chip, did not fit on the new cylinder.
I taped the old key, which has the chip that allows it to start, to the “Halo” and tucked it into the dash. Works perfectly, was an extremely easy fix.
Watch a couple YouTube videos and you will be able to do the replacement no problem.

This item is flawless, and should work on most Toyota Solaras… unless its the prototype version of the vehicle in that case one needs the 2003+ ignition switch version and will also have to take that part to a locksmith to get it modded to find! ‘
Other than that, still a HECK of a lot cheaper to do this than going to a deal! No complaints from me!

After my young son was playing around with my ignition and wore out the internal springs, I bought this to replace it as the car is still going strong. Fit perfect and works like the OEM cylinder that was in the car. The only hiccup I’ve had is the key getting stuck for a moment when the flap style door and new, sharp cut key got hung up together. After a quick jiggle it was free with no damage and onlyhappened once. I would easily but this item again if needed.
