Installed tray but could not screw because bolt wasn’t machined correctly.

No thrills here but it works. I have a 78 series battery and the up right tie downs aren’t threaded long enough for the nut to tighten up. I had to put some spacers between the bracket and nuts but it worked. Working with a reasonably tight space behind the seat of my 53 Chevy as well. Had a nice optima and tray specifically for that but after 2 years that $350 battery gave up so it’s time to get back to the basics with a standard battery with a 3 year warranty.

Installed on Tundra whose plastic tray was cracked. Easy to mount either with the slots or drill holes in it and frame. I had to add about around two inches of threads to the hold down stay rod and then cut roughly 4 inches off the rod, both only took a couple of minutes. I would not have been able to close the hood on my Tundra with the hold down rods left as they were. My battery is a normal size battery so not sure why the rods were so long but not a major hurdle to overcome: if you have a grinder with a cut off wheel, Thank You Dewalt, and a good tap and die set, thank You Craftsman tools. All in All it is a good product and will do what it is intended to do, hold the battery in place…100 (x) beefier than the OEM plastic tray.
