I have one on my boat and my Grand Design 5th wheel. This cuts off all12 volt circuit from your battery. My 5th wheel has a cutoff in the basement but does not cut off all circuits. It does now that I incorporated it directly from my batteries positive side.

My pontoon boat lights kept coming on when it rained. Put this cutout switch in and fixed that problem
Yua Ca Van –
It disconnects my batteries from my inverter. Good enough diploma.

Havent used this yet, but after seeing reviews on other similar switches the first thing I did was open it up and check the actual Amp rating on the device. Sure enough, on Amazon its listed as 300amps, however the device is only rated for 275. I personally believe many of these resellers purposely mislead buyers.
Thing is, for my application, and i would assume most others too, this isnt much of a big deal. Me being aware of this i ordered one bigger than i actually needed. My system is set up to handle 250 amps at the moment (fuses & cabling) and i wanted a switch that could handle a bit more so id hopefully not have to worry about it failing before the fuse kicks in. This is another common thing that happens with these. The switch itself could overheat, melt and cause a short.
So yeah, be aware that its 275 and not the 300 as advertised. Amazon should really crack down on this behavior.

Simple product, well constructed, easy to install.

This “300A” switch has 0.2V voltage drop at 20A. You get what you pay for. In this case, a fire hazard.
