quality of this gauge appears very good. Far better than the $29 offerings from another brand I used to loyally use. Smooth action. Consistent backlighting. Nice mount bracket. Note… the backlight is a fixed brightness and does not vary with the oem dash dimmer. I’m using it with onboard air for rear air springs that run from 5-20 psi. a little creative plumbing was required to reduce the needle from bouncing up and down with suspension motion. based on the cost, I do have to think twice to make sure I’m sure I need a gauge to be added, but if it’s worth it, I think this brand is probably the way to go.

Gauge works great. Needs to have 45 deg. 1/8 npt adapter on the pressure port on gauge in order to fit in gauge pod and needs to have all thread stud shortened on right hand side of gauge to allow gauge to seat squarly and completly into pod. Light also does dim down.

This gauge looks pretty nice. However, the tubing which comes with it is 1/8″ plastic, and it comes tightly coiled in the package. While trying to straighten the tubing to install it, the tubing wants to remain coiled, so it kinks in about 50 different places, cutting off the pressure from the gauge. When trying to install the gauge into the AUTOMETER pillar mount, I found that the gauge won’t fit into the mount far enough. The gauge sticks out about an INCH or so from being flush, and reason being the compression fitting where the tubing attaches is at the bottom of the gauge. The pillar mount curves up at the back where the bottom of the gauge is, so the tubing hits it, preventing the gauge from going into it’s own mount, and also kinks the tubing off.
I went to autometer’s website, and found an installation guide for my particular vehicle, with photos. In their guide, they discover that their gauge doesn’t even fit in their own mount, and then show that an adapter piece is necessary, basically a 90 degree fitting. Of course the fitting doesn’t even come with the gauge. I went and got the fitting, and the gauge STILL won’t even fit in it’s own mount. I forgot to mention that there are pieces of all-thread sticking off the back of the gauge which need to be cut off for the gauge to be installed. Still won’t go all the way into it’s own mount. I messed around with the orientation of the fitting, and can’t get the gauge to go all the way into it’s mount. Finally I wound up rotating the gauge itself 45 degrees, and got it to go in further, but it still sticks out 1/8 to 1/4 inch, and now it’s crooked while all the other gauges are straight. If they had put the compression fitting at the top of the gauge instead of the bottom, then there would be absolutely no problem. So I’m pretty disappointed that autometer made a gauge which won’t even fit in a mount that they made, both of which are for a specific vehicle. I would recommend buying Isspro gauges, and that’s what I’ll do next time I get a vehicle.

It works good. Only issue was the fitting for the hose on the back takes an adapter that they provide but makes it stick way too far back and the gauge won’t sit flush in the pod.

Added this gauge to my F350 6.0L to monitor Boost PSI. Installed into the MAP hose on the right side of the engine. You will need to provide your own fittings to complete the installation. I used a Tee with barb fittings then a compression fitting to go from the hose to the plastic tube provided in the kit. Love that it matches my dash perfectly.

Great gauge for the 6.0 powerstroke. Max boost for that motor is around 27psi so the range works perfect. I had a 0-60 psi guage before but it didn’t seem as accurate. I also like the fact that it has a nice clean factory look and doesnt look like something you would put in your civic. At night the gauge is easy to read but also not to bright. Has the same background color as the factory cluster guages. Easy to install but you might want to find instructions on a forum because the ones supplied are not vehicle specific. Overall im very pleased and hope to purchase the fuel pressure guage here shortly

This is a nice gauge for a Ford vehicle. I installed this gauge on two separate 7.3l Excursions. Both installed were simple.
The main thing you have to remember when running the vacuum line is to “feed it” through and not pull it. This line will kink in you if you pull it through your dash.
I ordered a 45degree fitting, which helped running the vacuum line, but the gauge was still extended passed the pillar mount exposing the white portion of the gauge housing.
I took a rounded file to the pillar mount ever so slightly to allow room for the black electrical tape i placed over the white housing.
This made a tight fit around the pillar mount and covered the white portion of the gauge.
