I needed replacement struts to hold up the rear deck on my boat. There are lots of options on Amazon, but selected the Arana and I’m glad I did. I was replacing 40lb struts, but could only find 45lb. Bought them thinking it would be fine. Arrived quickly, but I got caught up in other projects so didn’t get around to installing for a few weeks. When I finally did, one of the struts bent. I guess it was too much for my application. I tried to return through Amazons standard returns, but was about a week outside of the return window. I contacted Arana and they were super helpful. They offered to either refund or replace the struts and even agreed to send me the 25lb struts. Like the original order, they arrived in a couple days. I installed them and they worked perfectly. Arana even followed up with me to make sure I was happy.
In these days when it’s hard to find good help and we’re told to expect less, Arana provided more. If you’re trying to decide which Amazon vendor for your strut needs, go with Arana!

These struts are great, the fit and finish looks good and the price was much better than on other websites. Thus far, they’re working well and I’m pleased. Only time will tell on the durability. Their documentation says to send them an email if I had any questions or needed help and they’d respond within 24 hours. I wanted the “open” position to be at a 45° angle and I asked them for modified mounting dimensions. They DID respond within 24 hours and the information was spot on. The ONLY reason I’m not giving them 5 stars is it’d be helpful if they provided fitment and installation guidance BEFORE purchasing. I originally bought struts from them that I thought were correct (based on YouTube videos and other sites) only to find out they were not right. The instructions included with the struts are very good, straight forward and helpful in getting the proper fitment. It would have been nice to have that upfront rather than buy the wrong thing, have to return them and get the right thing. Not a big deal, however.

would give it a 5, but Absolutely terrible instructions – diagram way too small

entirely way too strong for the weight limit they set….I had to practically LAY on them with my 230 pounds to even get them started to close. I only put one on the toy box lid and when I tried to close it, it literally pulled the screws out of the wood at the hinges.

Don’t be fooled by Amazon’s red-box proclamation that this item is frequently returned. Most likely, people don’t understand how to size these struts for their application, so it’s hit-or-miss on getting it right, understandably.
I used these on a queen camper bed, and I can now lift the bed with literally one finger. It stays open until I push it back closed, so as far as I’m concerned, these worked perfectly for me. Look around for information on “sizing gas struts” and you’ll get some advice on how to choose.

I was asked to do a review on these because they’re returned quite often. All I can say is make sure you measure to see how long you need, how much weight they need to carry, and read the descriptions or ask somebody if you do not know what you’re doing. Don’t be stupid and get somebody that knows how to install them or measure to get the correct ones. It’s not rocket science, just takes a little common sense but that is lacking in today’s society. The ones I bought work great and will lift a ton of weight.

This is in many ways an excellent product. I bought the 15″, 22.5lbs pair for my daughter’s vintage toy chest, which has a heavy wooden lid. I wanted to make it stay open and soft close. Even with a heavy wood lid, only one strut was needed, and even then it’s a little on the strong side and hard for her to close. But it’s safe, works as advertised, and seems good quality.
My only issue is that from the description, it’s difficult to choose which size/version is right for your usage, and the installation instructions are virtually useless. I am pretty handy and I had to really think about it, play around, watch some YouTube videos of similar products, and even then I had to undo and redo it several times to get it right. But once I did it worked just like I wanted. Great value for the price!

The gas struts themselves seem okay. However, the end ball joints have about 4mm of play in them. Additionally, the hole in the mounting brackets to accept the ball joints threaded part have the hole drilled way too big, or I had the wrong mounting brackets in the pack. Either way, not recommended at all.

Know what you need before you order it. Make careful measurements and calculate the weight that you need. These hold up a 50 pound chicken cold door. Now I ordered the 100 lbs version with 2 struts. Placement of the struts need to be taken into account when the door is closed as most people install the struts when the door is open but dont take into account the door has to close and don’t leave enough room for the strut to collapse in.
good product with enough information to make a informed idea which strut I needed to get.
