This car phone holder with a charger is a fantastic combination of convenience and functionality. It’s easy to install, holds the phone securely, and offers adjustable angles for optimal viewing. The fast-charging feature is reliable and keeps my phone powered during long drives. Durable, user-friendly, and worth every penny—highly recommended!

This thing is amazing. Who uses the cd player in a car these days? Not me. It is sturdy, doesn’t fall out like the cheap ones. Grips your phone automatically and positions it to charge. I love it.

With this unit you are able to charge your phone while driving down the road. It is motorized and holds phones very securely with the little rubber fingers on the sides when you push the little white tabs in. All of those cars out there with the pesky CD player that we never use anymore now have a purpose! You slide this unit into the CD and you tighten it down and you cannot get this to pull off the dashboard nor will it let go of your phone unless you’re ready for it too. It is very rugged very durable and works extremely well. The ease of installation causes this to be put in by even the most Layman person that knows nothing of a car. The set is absolutely amazing the color looks great and the car even with them giving you a carbon fiber looking auxiliary port adapter and it comes with a cord like most items typically do lol. If you’re looking for not only a phone holder for your car but with something that also charges and where your phone will not go flopping on the floor when you hit a speed bump or turn a corner this is what you want to pick up. Grab one for everybody in the family of gifts and you won’t be disappointed.

Background:
I purchased this APPS2Car wireless charging phone mount to pair with my Google Pixel 6 with a Spigen Rugged Armor case, and am mounting it in the stock CD player of my 2009 Toyota Corolla Matrix. I have been using this same CD player mount design previously with the APPS2Car CD player magnetic phone mount for two years now and it has worked out well so far.
I got this version because I wanted to try it out with wireless charging, to not have to fiddle with plugging in a USB C cable in every trip, and to reduce wear on my phone’s charging port.
Features:
Following the footage in my uploaded video, you can see that when you first power on your cigarette lighter or USB port by turning the car’s key on, the mount opens up its three arms to allow a phone to be easily placed inside. When you place your phone onto the mount, it automatically begins to close up to a snug fit, without having to press the side buttons on the mount.
Pressing either side button on the mount opens up the two side arms and allows the phone to be removed freely. When power is lost to the mount by turning off the ignition, the bottom arm of the mount slides up a bit, which keeps the phone in a slightly snug position, but allows you to remove it from the mount, so you don’t have to press the side buttons on the mount to remove your phone when power is turned off on the mount as you’re exiting your car, for instance.
Furthermore, as seen at the end of the video, the mount seems to hold enough charge with power completely turned off from it to press the side buttons, and open/close the mount arms two to three times before running out of charge and having the buttons become unresponsive. I didn’t see this feature listed, but it is nice to be able to unmount/mount your phone once or twice without having to have the device powered on with the car’s ignition.
As seen in my phone screenshot, I was able to get a reading of up to 1830 mA charging current with my Pixel 6 using the Ampere app to measure. I only tried it for a few minutes with my battery between 92-100%, so I am unsure if it would have reached higher charging mA values with a lower battery percentage, but even that rate is sufficient for my needs.
On my Pixel 6, the silicone mount side arms do press up against my volume down key, but does not press hard enough to trigger the button, so be aware of that possibility with your phone’s button layout. When driving the mount does have the occasional small vibration on rougher roads, but it wasn’t intense, and everything on my phone screen was still legible throughout.
(Note: In this video the light on the mount is flashing red, because I am using an older phone for the video demonstration that does not support wireless charging. When using a phone that the mount supports wireless charging on, the light will pulse blue once connected.)

I’ve just received the CD phone charger automatic clamp, and immediately can tell this is built like a tank.
The insert for the CD player is made of very firm plastic and comes with what appears to be silicone pads installed, and it comes with an extra set of silicone pads for future use.
The ball joint also appears to be well engineered and locks very secure.
Then there’s my favorite features, the automatic charger locator for optimal charging efficiency and automatic clamping when the car turns on as well as automatic unclamping when the car is turned off.
I have a heavy duty military grade case and it still was able to automatically position my phone for optimal charging efficiency.
If you wish to open or close the clamps manually, there’s a button on the left and right that you can push to do so. Both buttons light up with a blue color, and I was a bit concerned that the buttons may be an issue at night, but while they are illuminated nicely they aren’t so bright to cause any issues or distractions at night.
I will update my review as I gain experience with this device, but I’m super Impressed and very satisfied so far.
UPDATE:
I’ve now had this for almost a month, and it is wonderful. Works flawlessly.
The only issue I’ve noticed is the wingnut screw that’s used for securing it into the CD player mouth has a tendency to slowly unscrew and loosen. I noticed it because when it’s looser the holder begins to shake when on bumby roads. Easy fix though, just tighten it up again. If this screw had a lock nut, it would fix this problem. That’s what I’m planning to do.

Initially good but after 3 months it has stopped working. Would not buy again.

Fits well, love the adjustments. 10 hours of use so far and has yet to fast charge anything. Still charges but slow.
Yeshua’s Talmidim –
