This is a perfect fit for a Kia Forte 2012 Ex 2.0L. If you do have a Kia forte 2010 – 2012. While this car is off and the negative terminal removed. All you need to do is remove the shift knob and screws around the center console. Specifically 2 screw (1 on each side of the front of the console) then there is 4 screws at the rear of the console (both seats needs to be moved forward to reach the remaining 4 screws on the rear). Once that is removed there is (I promise) last two bolts you need to remove (location main compartment of the center console: remove cover 2 bolts will appear). I believe it’s a 10mm bolt. Anyways once that is removed carefully pry the emergency brake plastic compartment. Once you’ve finished removing the plastic – adjust the shifter to R or N. You can access the “lock release” at the front of the shifter (use a pin or something thin to remove and push down on the “lock release”. The part is expensive but it does save you money too… unless you “MacGyver it”!!!

Simple installation, once you get the dashboard disassembled.

No instructions but once cable was seen, it was easy to install. Cost should be about 15 dollars but hey it fixed the issue that no one knew could be fixed without a new shifter cable. The 1996 Nissan Max is not listed but it should be as it has the same shift cable. It comes with a push tool I didn’t need to use made out of hard round plastic to press the part in the shifter end that is then put on rod end and lubed first and nut is tighten on snugly. This will save you money as dealer will charge you 400 for parts and labor.

We have a 2003 Toyota Corolla and one day the Windshield Washer pump died and a week later, the shifter stopped working. Luckily, in searching YouTube for videos on the Corolla, I came across one on this very subject! Taking the cover off was easy – pop a panel, unplug a couple of cables, remove four (6) screws and it comes right off. Very easy! Then pop the new bushing into the shifter arm and then snap it onto the hub. We placed the “fingers” side of the bushing towards the driver and it seemed correct. This does not come with instructions, but there are lots of YouTube videos on this topic. Also, this part fit perfectly, but seems a little high in price. Would be better if it was cheaper (esp for DIYers).

This has been in place for about a month since we installed it. It does the job. The whole job to get to the point to install the bushing takes some time (1 – 1.5 hours) but that is the fault of Toyota for making the shifter connection hard to get to. Putting the bushing on was a little hard only because you are working in a cramp and hard to reach space. The cost is a little high for a bushing, but as it makes the car useable again it is worth it in that perspective.

2009 Kia optima wouldn’t shift. After seeing YouTube videos of the issue, I took the console out to get to the shift assembly (that is the hard part) And man it was nasty (the car was used – I found all kinds of oddball things that dropped down there over the years). After that I found the broken bushing in 3 pieces. Put the new bushing on, slid the cable onto the shifter assembly and voila – I can shift again. So much easier and less expensive than replacing the entire cable from the transmission thru the firewall into the center console. It’s been installed for a while now and I have zero issues.

    مناسبة لتويوتا يارس ٢٠١٩
    تثبت رأس الكيبل حق القير
لكن السعر مرتفع كثير على هذه القطعة الصغيرة.

Worked like it should. Was a easy affordable fix vs replacing the entire cable for the shifter!

    very poor quality

Installation is a pain in the butt, especially if you have big hands. Fits exactly as the original. Delivery was prompt.
