this is really a must have if you need to kill your battery connction overnight without the need for tools. the fitment isn’t that great though. the battery post side of it is way too small. I had to get a pair of spreader pliars to widen it for the battery post to fit, and then had trouble screwing the clamp so it doesn’t try to undo itself. put two shims on to make it work. I’d get it again, but I’d honestly want to mod it so it’s not

This battery isolator is perfect for my need to intermittly supply battery power to my scissor lift, without having to go through the process of disconnecting/reconnecting the battery. The item is well constructed and very sturdy.
Highly recommend this product.

How I love to write good reviews, but unfortunately on this product it was a major disappointment.
First of all, the battery terminal they climbs onto the battery itself was way too small and I didn’t want to bend the metal too hard because when just utilizing it a little bit to try to make the opening wider, the metal looked very cheap and then when I looked up the reviews many people said because of the poor quality metal that terminal would snap.
Secondly, the auxiliary terminal that went on to the cable that is from the engine was way too small-and there was no way to tighten it to the main wire that usually goes onto the battery. All in all it was extremely disappointing and a lot of hard work for nothing because when I got it hooked up and checked all connections, while it could run the lights, and the battery was just charged-it just did not make a good internal connection-the whole thing was a waste of time and as I said, very disappointing.
I can’t believe all the good reviews on the item, it shakes my confidence in reviews in general when I see a product like this, and just picking it up in your hand and feeling the lightweight construction of the metal, is a certain telltale sign that it’s just not quality. ~Sorry to the people who make this, it’s always much more fun to write good reviews and if there is another side to this, and you feel my reviews unfair, I am always a person who is open to being corrected.

I found this item on Amazon last year and thought it would be just what I needed to make disconnecting my NEG battery cable easier when I knew my car was not going to be driven for a while. Once installed, which is very easy, this switch has worked great without any hassle.
I am now a repeat buyer and can say that both purchases have been great.
We have 2 cars which are not used often and have always disconnected the NEG battery cable from the battery so as to keep the battery charged when the cars are going to sit around for a few weeks or months at a time without being started.
In the past, I had no problem removing the NEG battery cable from the battery by loosening the nut. But to do this you need use your tools, and when you do this over and over, sometimes it makes the nut a little sloppy, after a while, I was not really able to tighten everything down as I would like to do, from the repeated loosening and tightening of the bold/nut.
Now that I have installed this switch, it makes the process so much easier! First, I don’t need any tools, I just pop the hood and turn the switch to red (off) when I’m not going to use the car for a while.
When I’m ready to drive again, I pop the hood, and turn the switch to green. (see pictures)
One thing to note, once the battery is turned off, you will need to open your car door via the physical key, because the key fob (push button) will no longer work. Since we rarely used the actual key prior to this, we sprayed some graphite power in the key-hole just to keep everything lubricated in there so the key would turn easy.
I hope this review helps, I know this item is made in China and some of them have been DOA, but both the ones I ordered have worked great out of the box and held up for months so far.
Mike~ keeping it REAL –
Quality made and very easy to attach and use. Perfect way to protect a battery of a suspected parasitic draw or to possibly prevent a vehicle theft.

Easy to install, works perfectly to isolate battery when not in use

Installed on my 1999 Honda Accord, works great as it isn’t driven much. Keeps battery from going dead. I still trickle charge the battery every month to maintain it. Good for the price and we’ll see how long it lasts.

I had a parasitic battery drain in my 2008 GT500. After 3 days the battery died. I got a new battery, and the same thing happened again. I ordered this battery off switch, and it saved my current battery. I later sorted out the radio head was discharging the battery.

Smooth operation of the switch, functions perfectly. A design allowing a 90 degree turn would be helpful.

Works as it should. Great if you have drain or need to kill electricity.
