The product itself is well made, but so far it’s not been the miracle expected for joining the AN fittings to the braided steel hose.

Excellent product. Exceeded my expectations. I assembled my -10 oil cooler lines for my RX7 by hand a couple years ago. I found one had begun to seep by… the assembly was a huge pain, and I wasn’t looking forward to wrestling with the connection when I made the repair, which entailed disassembling the connection, trimming off an inch of braided/nylon -10 hose, and reassembly. I searched to find a tool that would make it easier and found Koul Tools. At first I was hesitant to buy because I thought the price was a bit high, but ultimately decided to take the plunge. It was worth the money. The repair took a total of 20 minutes. Reassembling the oil line was an absolute breeze. The next time I plan to assemble braided lines I will be buying Koul Tools for the job (different sizes). The cost was worth the savings in time and aggravation. Very happy with the product.

wow do these make AN fittings easy. use them all the time now.

Great idea, so simple and works so well. I have fought with these braided, stainless hoses forever, this makes it so easy. Load fitting in tool and clamp in vise. Wrap hose with electrical tape, cut thru it with .040 wheel on angle grinder, remove tape, few drops of oil on end of hose, push and turn hose counter clockwise.

Great, simple design that makes the process of inserting the braided hose into the fittings painless! I have never attempted to make them up without the Koul Tool, but had this tool recommended by a mechanic friend who told me how much it helps. So, when I bought a valve cover breather kit that used -AN fittings and would require me to make up my lines, I purchased this tool. There are videos on YouTube to show you how to use this ingenious tool. I measured the hoses to length, marked with black electrical tape (key step in the process), used a 4″ grinder with metal cutoff discs to cut my lines (cutting in the middle of the electrical tape–the tape keeps the line from fraying & keeps things together when putting in the fitting). Put the Koul tool in a vise (it looks like plastic, but it’s a resin that is VERY resistant–the stuff is TOUGH), I dabbed a touch of 5-30 motor oil on the outer surface of the tape & fed the line in using a twisting motion. You may have to watch to see if you’ve got the line all the way in. When it’s in place, put the fitting in a vise (I recommend these to keep from marring the anodized aluminum fittings: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008BF1VEK/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_5), dab some oil on the fitting threads and wrench the fittings down.

Makes life a lot easier when inserting braided fuel hose into the fitting.

I don’t normally write reviews, but I had to with this. I have been putting together AN fittings for years and I thought I had it down to a science. I bought this and thought – might as well give it a try. It took me less than a minute to do an end without the stainless wires poking me and drawing blood. Even if you hose is a little frayed, it still works great. I am going to by the other sizes I need now.

Adding an external trans oil cooler. Decided AN fittings were a better option since existing steel lines required cut and splice with hose always seeps down the road and worm clamps against barbed fittings always eventually cuts into hose.
Tried first fitting, all -6’s, and although eventually got steel hose into nut it was as expected a pain in the …. Took about 20 min. And poked fingers.
Decided on this Koul Tool to expedite installation and save my fingers.
As instructed in on line videos prep line, insert nut, shim as required. I did not have a vice available so all with brute grip force for assembly. It took about 3 minutes to get line into fitting. HIGHLY SUGGEST to use vice as in OLV. Great tool, saves time and fingers!
