    This is just what we needed to get rid of the stock vacuum differential and gave my wife the assurance of knowing she had the front end in gauged.
    As far as tire wear and steering, it’s not any problem on our 94 YJ and I would recommend this setup over the cable setup. When you put it in 4 wheel drive, it’s in 4 wheel drive without second guessing if you have the cable adjusted correctly. With that said, I gave it 5 stars and the price was great.

    This didn’t work at all for my YJ, it fits but just doesn’t lock the front axle. At least not for me. Of course the return window closed so now I’m out $90.

    Everything was a nice tight fit. The only problem I had with this was my original fork would not fit. It was to wide and would not set all the way down into the housing. Since my fork was loose on the shaft in the first place I had purchased #450100 Alloy USA replacement fork. Tolerances are very tight so expect to work getting the shaft through the fork. I used a small bit of Royal Purple Grease to get it in.
    I love the fill hole built into the housing.
    As a side note Cork Gaskets make me cringe. I would love to see a better quality gasket with this kit.

    this item replaces an over engineered unnecessary system that is faulty in the Jeep Cherokee front axle and it does not lock the vehicle into 4 wheel drive it simply locks the axle in mechanically instead of using the problematic vacuum system from the factory and the four wheel drive is still controlled by the lever from inside the vehicle.it will not affect the wear on the front tires. just to be clear it does not lock your Cherokee into 4 wheel drive.

    I used this on my 91 Jeep Wrangler because I didn’t like/trust the vacuum controlled system. Locks the two axles together full time so when the transfer case engages you know you’re in four wheel drive. Does not change the drivability of the Jeep.

    Two stars because it worked and directions were understandable.

    Cork gasket was not included in packaging but was on the list in the directions.
    The rod that goes through the fork was too big and had to be sanded down and the hole in the fork made larger.
    The cast for the housing was too tight for the fork and had to be ground out. Also the threads in the cast were very tight. If I had a tap in those sizes it would have been helpful.
    Also the fork was original to the jeep so I’m assuming the specs for it are good.
