As other reviewers have said this is not really the heavy duty make of real Hyundai stuff. These items from a Hyundai dealer are ridiculously pricef compared to this, however. The main problem in this area is knowing if you got authentic goods. Had a Gates timing belt break and be completely cracked and worn out after 50K. A real Gates should go closer to 150K. Pretty sure it was fake. Had a mechanic friends get a fake one from popular auto parts store, stretched and ruined engine within 100 miles. That’s the reason I went with Aisin but don’t know a way to authenticate, packaging looks genuine. Will examine often and change early.
Update: I had to replace head gasket about 21K miles after I put timing belt on so had opportunity to closely examine belt. Both to my eyes and 2 mechanics the belt looks absolutely brand new.

This kit was carefully installed and the car ran fine for about 27,000 miles (15 months – long commute). Suddenly the tensioner pulley froze up causing the belt to jump a few teeth, and of course the car stalled and wouldn’t restart. Aisin is supposed to be a premium brand. Supplying such a low quality bearing is inexcusable. Others have left similar feedback. Do yourself a favor and don’t buy this kit!

Water pump leaking at front seal after about one month of use

Got this kit 4 years and 42K miles ago and installed into 2008 Elantra. Yesterday the water pump bearing failed and starting making horrible grinding noises. Probably not original AISIN even though the seller was Amazon directly, not a 3rd party seller. Very unusual for an Asian car water pump to fail so soon. The alternator belt driving the pump was with proper tension, cannot be blamed for the failure. Do not buy. Unfortunately, for labor intensive parts like this (timing belt kit and water pump), best bet it to buy from the dealer. Saving on labor if one can work on cars is good enough but with so many fake parts sold online it is not worth it to risk it. I guess I was lucky the failure to be the water pump, not the timing belt tensioner or idler which could have totaled the engine.

This kit is the same one South Main Auto uses and went together on 07 spectra very easy. Came with torque specs and very good quality.. Don’t want to redo for another 60k at least.

Used this kit on a 07 tiburon with 2.0l. Product was delivered the next day and was exactly as shown in picture and described. Installed easily, good directions sheet.
