We ordered this because it said it fits the Toyota 4Runner from 2003-2009 which is our vehicle year.
Had I looked closer before ordering, it says the numbers of the parts it replaces. Amazon even had a little warning above that said, “Does not fit your XXX vehicle” which I didn’t see until after my hubby opened it and saw it was the wrong shape. (I ordered it so he didn’t see the product info)
So it was totally user error. We learned that there was a different filter for the V6 and the V8 4Runners. We have the V8 and this fits the V6.
It looks like a nice filter. Can’t prove that it is or it isn’t so we’ll give it 4 stars.

Ordered this filter for my 2007 Toyota FJ-Cruiser 4.0L V6. Anyone with an FJ-Cruiser will understand, replacing the air intake filter is an expensive chore. It is very easy to replace, just not cheap to replace.
I was a bit skeptical when I seen the price for this filter. At the time of this review the price was $14.87 which is less than half the price I usually pay each year for the OEM air filter.
The quality of this filter is amazing! It appears to be equivalent in material and craftsmanship to the factory OEM filter.
It was installed several weeks ago and the engine has been running as good always. Fuel economy has remained unchanged.
I highly recommend this filter! It is definitely worth the small investment.

I can’t believe I let this air filter clutter the table near the door for a month before I finally installed it. It took longer to watch a youtube video about how to install it than it took to replace the old air filter with this new one. I hardly dirtied my hands, the thing fit perfectly, and it appears identical to the old one – excepting that the new one is fresh and clean.

The air filter works great for my 2014 Toyota Tacoma with the V6. The installation was easy and if you have any concerns, just use Youtube to look up the instructions. As someone else here has stated, though, be careful! – double-check your vehicle’s compatibility before purchasing, because the filter is only compatible with the V6 4.0L.

I recently decided to give my 2015 Tacoma TRD Pro some much-needed love and install this engine air filter. I was amazed at how dirty the old filter was compared to the new one, it was due for a change!
The installation process was super simple, I was able to replace the filter in a matter of minutes – no tools needed. The new filter matched identically to the old one, even the rubber gaskets to seal it up!
I haven’t noticed any difference in major performance or gas mileage, but its peace of mind knowing the old filter needed changed anyhow since it was super dirty. Engine air filters on Toyota’s typically need changed every 15,000-30,000 miles (10,000 miles for extreme use like off-roading), so don’t hesitate to buy this one – your engine will thank you later!

I got this engine air filter for my 2008 4runner V6 and it fits fine. Looks just like the oem ones from the dealer. The previous filter was very dirty so it’s good to get this new one in. Chaning the filter is very easy too. No tools are required. Just open the hood and you just need to undo 2 latches. Pull off the housing that holds the filter and swap it out. The dealer near us charges about $22 for an oem one while this one costs about $15. No reason to spend more for the same quality.
