Pump is working great. Plenty of flow for my turbo LT1. Awesome low cost solution for my project. Fits in stock hanger in tank. Not noticeably louder.

  2. Donna K. Kitchings

Very satisfied with my purchase and quick delivery also.

  3. Eric

Installed 1 year ago and have not had a problem out of it yet!

I bought this as an upgrade to my 82 corvette. Its working good and was easy to mount.

I combined this with an ’87 Chevy truck sending unit to allow using the stock fuel tank in my EFI-converted ’85 C20 Silverado. It feeds a 500-ish HP 468CI big block with a Holley HP TBI unit just fine. The TBI operates at 21 PSI, so this provides some breathing room; I’m running gasoline, but this should be sufficient to feed that big ol’ thing E85 if I get around to converting one day.

Installation was pretty straightforward. I had to trim a little bit of the supplied bottom gasket to fit in the stock carrier, and there was a little bit of work involved in switching the stock power connector to use the pigtail that came in the kit, but that’s mostly just because I’m anal and wanted it to all seem like it was stock; splicing the wires like a sane person would’ve only taken someone a few seconds.

Noise is really pretty minor. I can tell when it’s turned on before I start the engine, but the dual 3.5″ exhaust drowns the pump out pretty quickly. It’s not nearly as loud as the “Holley Red” frame-mounted electric pump on my wife’s Chevelle. As far as in-tank pumps go, it’s quiet for a performance pump, and on the loud end for a stock pump. In a car with the tank out back, you might not hear it inside; in my truck with minimal sound deadening and the pump right in the gap between the cab and bed, I barely hear it with the windows up.

Flow is good. Through 3/8″ line (mostly metal pipe, with a small length of flexible line on either end), pressure stays at 20-22PSI pretty much regardless of demand. I think the “just ok” built-in regulator on the TBI is what causes the small variation in pressure (the regulator is set at 21). At 6K RPM, I’m using about 210 lbs/hr on this engine, which isn’t even half of the pump’s rated capacity. So, whatever you’re putting it on will probably be just fine as long as you’re only making three-digit horsepower. 😀

Otherwise, this thing looks and feels very well-made. Both fit and finish of the parts is quite good, it feels nice, and the connections feel solid. I’ve been driving around with it for a few months now, after probably six more months of infrequent use during assembly / tuning. The only thing that I’m not super excited about is that the fuel pressure does bleed off fairly quickly when the pump is turned off. However, I don’t know for sure if it’s bleeding past the regulator, or back through the pump. Either way, it only takes a small fraction of a second between key-on and pressure being built back up, because of the volume the pump moves – that’s why systems have a “prime” cycle when you turn the key on. So it doesn’t impact startup, which means it’s ultimately not a problem other than me knowing it’s happening. I’d recommend this pump.

Put this in a ls swapped 82 chevy k20 with new tank and sender. It would barely start and run but voltage would drop to 12v at alternator when running. Had a bad draw on the electrical system so i pulled it out, checked connections and placed in a bucket and noticed it was bubbling out of wires. Never got to even use this pump and cant return because its been too long, gathering parts for a “quick build”!! Always heard aeromotive was the best pump to use, well this is my first and last time using them. Back to the walbro for me!

Great upgrade to my 93 Corvette. I was having some phantom fuel issues. While I had the tank apart, it was suggested I change out the original fuel pump, since I was in there anyway. I decided to upgrade to this performance pump. No complaints so far. Plenty of fuel volume for my lightly modified LT1. I even think it’s quieter than the original. I did not go for the optional harness as the wiring size in the car seemed to be the same.

  8. Amazon Customer

I bought this fuel pump in march 2024 everything was working fine but it randomly went out now in July 2024 it only lasted 4 months it’s definitely both worth it for the price.
