It’s a VERY snug fit to the AEM 21-205bf filter. I would rate it a 5 star but there is zero information or a fitment guide for aems filters. I had to gamble on this filter sock and hope it would fit.

Some reviews saying doesn’t fit but fit it perfectly on a common size pod filter.

bought it for my 97 toyota and works great. prefilter helps keep the main filter clean as well, id definately buy another one when needed.

If your engine sputters after precipitation, water may be getting through your intake air filter and into the MAF sensor. When this happens, the wire gets cold and causes the ECU to dump more fuel into the engine than is needed, flooding the engine. This issue can be confirmed by watching the O2 sensor indicating rich condition (10.0). I was skeptical that this filter sock would keep the water out, but when I opened the package, I realized the stock is treated with a water resistant coating. I’ve been driving my car through rain and snow storms (which I had been unable to even drive it a day after a good rain), and have not had any repeats of the problem since having the filter sock installed. This part number filter sock fits the AEM 21-203DK filter perfectly. I am very pleased that this sock corrected a problem that had caused me to drive a rainy-day car rather than my fun and modified car.

You open the package and it’s just a tiny, thin piece of fabric. Probably the most expensive piece of fabric I’ve ever bought. Yet it should last a long time and honestly I see it as a worthwhile investment. Perhaps the cost is just to cover the cost of research & development on this, since it’s hard to believe this thing actually costs close to that much to manufacture.
Anyway, cost aside, I am happy with this purchase. I wanted to make sure I could actually have confidence in this product’s performance, so I put it under my kitchen faucet for a few seconds. All the water runs straight off, just like those fancy dress pants you can buy.
The reason I bought this in the first place was that driving in Utah rain/snow used to make my car struggle a little bit at low RPMs. After putting this on my filter that is no longer an issue; drives the exact same in snow as it does in dry weather. So again, very happy. It was a little bit tricky to put on since it is super tight fitting onto AEM’s standard filter, so it was like trying to stretch a fitted queen bedsheet over a king size mattress. But I got it on and everything’s working great.

While the Dry Flow Filter Wrap is not designed to prevent hydrolock (the intake is submerged and draws water into the throttle body), it does a fantastic job of repelling droplets of water from the surface of the filter. I modified my car’s bumper to allow air to directly flow onto the filter, but of course the downside is water can splash onto the filter itself. While this doesn’t cause much concern for hydrolock, what it does do is expose the filter to getting wet, which severely effects intake function. Furthermore, water damage (rust, mold, etc) on the surface of the filter will lead to the need to replace the rather pricey filter. This Dry Flow wrap is a highly hydrophobic and perfectly-fit tool to prevent water from permeating the surface of your air filter. I cannot recommend this part enough!

Fits on the filter nicely and does what’s it supposed to do. Highly recommend for those who have fender well Cold air intakes .

Installed the aem v2 intake on my 00 integra gsr. Added this filter sock with it to help protect the filter from sucking up any water. Fits great. Shouldn’t affect air flow at all. High quality and looks nice. Easy to install. Highly recommend.

I bought this to try for my race filter but it is a bit on the small size to go around the whole filter cone. The elastic is not very strong either and I’m a bit worried it might come off while driving. Tried it on my spare aem non-race filter and it fit around the whole cone but like I say the elastic was not strong enough to my liking.
So is it worth it to help prevent dust and possibly water from splashing on the filter or being sucked in to engine? I’ll say no, I would spend the $40+ on something else.
