Bought this as a replacement to my replacement on my 1984 Jeep CJ7. The one it replaced only lasted two years because of plastic parts. This one uses more metal and should last much longer. Not hard to install if you just watch a couple of install videos and I got it swapped out in about 30 minutes.

Original keys were shot and it was getting hard to be sure power was off. This cylinder works smoothly and engages positively when locked. Keys only come out when Jeep is turned off now.

I thought I was going to have a heck of a time getting this installed. Mine kept coming out. I took this out of the package and it slipped right in! All of 8 seconds.

Super stoked that I got this installed in my AMC. The old ignition was worn out and the ignition key was fall out. The old ignition was often near impossible to turn into the start position.
This new cylinder solved all of that for me. My mechanic installed it in about 30 minutes and everything works as it should.
