It was marking hot temperarure when the car was not even hot. RETURNED!

Only reason I’m giving this 3 stars is because both times it didn’t have the copper washer. Had to reuse the one from the original part. Thought after the first return it would be taped to the item or something as I was specific in why I returned the part. Otherwise, it works and did the trick…if you don’t count on the copper washer arriving with the part.

Several others have mentioned this: It does NOT come with the copper washer/gasket. I just used re-used the original washer. No leaks after a week of use. I used my OBD connection and verified that the temperature readings are accurate. Toyota dealer wants $80 for this same part, so this is a good deal.
Easy enough to install, you don’t really have to drain the coolant, just unscrew the old one (19mm), transfer the washer to the new one, and quickly screw in the new one. Warning: Don’t torque it too much, many people have broken these – they are kinda hollow by design since the internals are fragile.
My 2002 Toyota Camry check engine light came on when this sensor would get stuck in the morning until the car warmed up enough. Works great, and the Check Engine light stays off now. Just a heads up: This is the three-prong (not two) sensor that talks to the car’s computer. (The two prong one is the sender for the temp gauge on the dashboard)
So works great, but they need to say that it doesn’t come with the washer. 4/5 stars.

I had hard time to install it because very bad location in my car, but fix the problem.

This fit right into my 98 Chevy Prizm and fixed my high idle issues. Yes, as others have said it does not come with the little copper washer, but I have a box of those and expected it to not be there so that wasn’t an issue. This was fully compatible and works great.

There were some cheaper I went for the name brand even though I should know better. In this case it did what it should very simply screwing into the water jacket, plugging into the wiring harness and fortunately proving that my old part was defective by raising the water temperature by about 6° and allowing the Dashboard Light to be shut off and stay off.

AC Delco always makes Quality Parts and they’re cheaper than Toyota OEM… read correctly and got rid of my engine code.

Doesn’t come with the washer, but it’s okay since I can just use the old one just be fast, as coolant will flow out once removed. This is a three-pin sensor. Make sure it is the 3-prong or 2-prong sensor when replacing. I recommend using a deep socket when replacing or removing it. Don’t over-tighten. I torqued it to 20ft-lbs.

I was struggling cause I had bought this item at car parts store and charged it 4 times it got to the point that I thought it was the relay but it was the sensor. Once I put this original part to my car the fan went on and my stop over heating. Really recommend this part, thank so much.
