I used this hardware kit when installing new brake drums and shoes on my 2015 Jeep Compass. I figured it would be best to just get the new hardware rather than hope the old hardware would still be solid. I’m glad I bought this kit, it was relatively inexpensive and all the pieces worked perfectly. No problems with fitment or performance. I put all the old parts in a box to have as backups in case I need them in the future. If you’re doing a drum brake replacement on your Jeep, do yourself a favor and get the new parts. You never know when a spring is going to break or get bent, and you can’t put the brakes back together without ALL the pieces.
BUSKER –
This was just right. Definitely worth ordering these parts in addition to the actual brakes. It’s a pain for non professionals to do drum brakes anyway, might as well have the extra springs and parts handy in case some have rusted. Note: not all the parts were exactly the same size as the originals, such as the springs, but they would have worked just fine as replacements. Would definitely buy again.

I liked the price of this kit most of all. It’s best to replace these parts when you replace the shoes. The only thing I was put off by was that the Bottom Spring was different than the Jeeps original equipment spring, having to reuse the old one.
