Good price, OEM part so perfect fit, good performance. It does NOT come with bolts, so if you’re replacing a GM factory install that’s riveted to the bracket make sure you have a couple with nuts and washers on hand.

My 2000 GMC Jimmy would not start with high humidity or following a heavy rain. I had previously replaced the rotor, distributor cap and coil wire. Still would not start in high humidity until everything dried out. I bought this AC Delco Ignition coil, swapped the two connectors over to this one without installing, and the vehicle started right up.
When I actually went ahead and swapped out the part, I checked a few videos on YouTube to see how to do it. It is quite simple.
A 10mm socket will loosen all the bolts needed to be loosened. You have remove or loosen other brackets that share the same bolts as the coil’s bracket. I drilled out the rivet holding the old coil to the new bracket and used machine bolts to attach the new coil. Most other aftermarket coils come with an assortment of bolts to attach the coil to the bracket, but this, being OEM, had rivet holes.
I had ordered this product as a next day delivery, open box item from Amazon and it arrived on a Sunday, the day after the order, and at a lower price than any local parts store.

Finally decided it was time to install a new coil for my 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS as I believe the original hasn’t been touched since birth, and I figured since I’m doing the ICM as well, why not kill 2 birds with 1 wrench & change both?
So, I went ahead & ordered this new AC Delco ignition coil and, as always, shipping was fast & on point. Next, I removed the old coil & both look exactly alike. Now since the new coil doesn’t come with a bracket, I had to re-use the old one, and to do this, I clamped down the coil & drilled out the two rivets using a 1/8 bit. (Make sure to wear gloves because the metal scraps like to give splinters – tell me how I know!) After the drilling, it still didn’t budge, so I grabbed a mallot & gave the coil light taps until it was finally able to break free. Slid on the new bolts & nuts (included) & then came the install.
Now everything seems great! I can now ride in peace, and by being an AC Delco brand, I can assure you that it’ll last many years!
Update (8/14/18): Over a year & 15,000+ miles later, impala still running strong & zero issues with coil. If you stick to a good brand, the good brand will stick to you. Very satisfied!

OE GM coil – it replaced the old original coil in my 2003 Chevy Astro Van with a 4.3L V6 engine. The van one morning just would not start, I tested fuel which was fine, I checked engine timing which was good, I checking for spark which meant I had to remove the engine doghouse. I tested for spark at the coil wire – no spark. I looked closely at the coil and when I turned the engine over I could see it sparking to the coil bracket so I ordered the coil and since the distributor cap and rotor we original equipment I decided to order those items and replace them as well. By the way, the coil on an Astro Van is not easy to replace. With those parts replaced the van started with no problem and has ran great for the past four weeks, problem solved.
The original coil is riveted to the coil bracket, the rivets must be drilled out. This coil DOES come with all the bolts, nuts and other hardware needed to attach it to the coil bracket.

This is a great product that arrived 3 days early, my only complaint is it does not come with instalation screws, the old part on a 04 blazer is held in by rivets that need to be distroyed in order to remove old coil from bracket. No big deal i walked to true value and found what i needed for $1.50. Overall fast ass shipping, great product, no instal screws.

Fits right, works right. What more can I say.
Well, if the problem is an intermittancy, I suggest changing the ignition module at the same time. They are on the same mounting bracket. You are going to have the module and the coil in your hands when you pull the bracket, which is the only way to change the coil. And the module is not expensive. It’s not a big job.

This is an AC Delco coil, and not some cheap chinese knockoff. The seller’s price for this item is superb! The OEM coil on my 1997 Chevy Silverado V8 5.7L Vortec engine (over 200K+ miles) was attached by 2 rivets to the base, so you have to drill them out – easy enough – took me about 3 minutes, and 1 of those was getting the right size bit to put in my drill.
My only regret with this item (not the sellers fault BTW) is that it does not come with a set of bolts/nuts/washers to use once I drilled out the rivets to install it. You will need a set of two 1 1/2 inch #6 bolts and nuts with washers (flat and lock) or star lock washers to attach it to the base plate. Once installed, it works great!
I also recommend to anyone replacing a very old coil to go ahead and spend ~ $60 to $80 more and replace the OEM Electronic Ignition Control Module that is co-located on the same installation base plate as the coil. Mine also had over 200K miles on it, so rather then have to work on it twice, I took care of both together – hopefully saving myself a future headache as well as time.

Product works great. But the hardware was not included like it says in the description . No biggie . Got what I needed at the hardware store for cents. Easy to install on my 98 gmc c1500 pickup , two ten millimeter bolts to remove the bracket. Deep socket 10 millimeter will be required. Then just drill out the rivets and install the new coil and hardware . It’s a good idea to use dielectric grease on the electrical connectors to prevent arcing , extend service life, eliminate voltage leaks and prevent corrosion. All in all the product works great! Good luck 🙂
