I first purchased a Gates radiator cap instead of this one. The Gates leaked. It was not well made and they cheaped out on the rubber under the cap. The Gates didn’t have any. This cap has some good thick rubber under the cap. It doesn’t leak. You can feel when you put it on that it’s extra tight
