PF48 is a little smaller than the PF48E and is also less expensive. I received a PF48 filter in a PF48 box p/n 19433934 with a sticker on that box labeling it PF48E. If I wanted the PF48 I would have purchased a PF48 for 1$ cheaper. Next time I’ll purchase this part from my local autoparts store.

the ac delco GM oil filters are as good as it gets we all know that there are other filters that are very well capable of doing just as good a job and yes there is a price difference between the other filters in my opinion there are the usual top three filter manufactures acdelco, wiks, and k+n, for the GM LS3 V8 engine the acdelco filter PF48E is up there with the rest because you are only going to use the filter for around 2k/3k miles anyway, recommended for standard use and some high performance use for the LS3 engine,

Reviews have to be realistic….this is an OEM filter that says it all , depending on the vehicle and engine type it is used for ( many engines from 4 to 8 cylinders ) installation or removal maybe be a breeze of a pain in the buttocks .Therefore easy to install is meaningless, as is the mileage part of the review.
I do my own oil and filter changes on all 3 of my vehicles at 3.500 hundred miles which often is more than 2.500 to as much as 12.000 miles sooner than some oil manufacturers say their oil will last. THAT IS A PIPE DREAM if you want reduced mileage and don`t care about wearing the engines internals go 15.000 miles between changes.
Oil and filters are less costly than are replacement engines, you cannot kill them with kindness but can certainly do it with neglect. In addition by doing changes sooner tan recommended I have gotten over 350 thousand miles from all my vehicles in the past 35 years and achieved better than their stated average gas mileage some as much a 8 mpgs.
So if your Chevy uses this filter …buy it …it is OEM ..and will last the length of the factory specified change interval

That is why it is cheap and it does fit. From a car forum – “The original PF48 was replaced by the PF48E … The problem is that the PF48 was a good filter with metal parts inside … The new replacement PF48E is a poor quality filter with cheap plastic parts inside.” I don’t know how this compares to aftermarket (non AC) brands….

I use this in my 2013 Silverado with the 5.3 (LMG) 6 speed flex fuel, AFM is turned off with custom tune.
I’ve swapped from these Shorty style stock filters to the longer filters but notice a decrease in oil pressure, I always get the best oil pressure with these shorty (PF48E) filters.
I change oil/filter often, never more than 5k on oil changes. It’s got 142k miles and runs like new, for under $4 shipped, I am happy with the product. My go to filter 🤙
